Every now and then I can a Google Play Store notification to update Google Play Store.
Should I?
Or do I ignore it just update it through the GrapheneOS App Store?

The notification is from the OS itself, you can update
calyellero Maybe Play services was updating.
console145 It's fine to update it. We place a maximum on how much it can update the Play Store and Play services. Usually, you only get a notification for Play services when it was last updated by App Store and Play Store wants to update it. Play Store can update itself with no prompt since Android allows self-update when install packages permission is enabled but we're considering removing the exception. It has not been decided yet.
Has anyone else had had issues getting this update to "take"? First time I've seen it in a loop of downloading, installing, verifying then... Nothing. No prompt to reboot, no update-completion after restart, version still reflects 1104, and manually searching an update restarts the process again.
Haven't seen anything on the GitHub yet, so figured I'd ask here.
Pixel 8a.
omninewb yes, someone did, although that was on earlier builds already: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/17033-unable-to-complete-os-install
I am facing app installed from Google Play Store crashing after few minues. This is happening ever since Android 15 update. I even did a reinstallion of Google Play services. With this update it is worse. I am unable to use any of these apps more than 5-6 minutes. It keeps crashing. And sometimes the system UI also becomes unresponsive. And then my phone overheats like crazy.
Please suggest something. What logs or other info I can provide to figure out this issue?

The logs that pop up when the crash happens would be the most useful.
spacecicada I even did a reinstallion of Google Play services.
What happens if you reinstall Play Store?

Here are the logs from YouTube and Twitter just after they crashed. I couldn't find a way to attach files, So here is the pastebin.

fid02 It did work well for a day. And now it is worse than before. My Gboard also keeps crashing.
That looks to me like a system log, not a crash dump. Is the app actually crashing?
What happens if you clear the app's cache and storage?

I have added the app logs, lets say I am using YouTube, it runs for a few minutes and then suddenly it becomes unresponsive and finally exits with black sceen. At that time the Launcher UI is also unresponsive for some time.
I tried clearing cache and storage, no change.
I also tried looking into the logs myself, there are multiple instaces of errors and warnings, but no idea what they are referring to. I work on different tech stack.
GmsCompat/GCA: app.grapheneos.gmscompat died
This seems common in both the logs, also the twitter log has a comple stacktrace of the system exit.
spacecicada if you uninstalled or reinstalled it, it might be best to try a completely new install. Remove:
After installing make sure that Google Play and Google Play Services have the network permission and don't change their DCL settings from their defaults. If you've changed any of those settings, the defaults are:
Whenever the pin prompt on the lock screen appears, the back gesture is not working. It's impossible to close it beside toggle power button. I guess that's not supposed to be.
other8026 Done, l will update tomorrow about if it worked. So far okay.
omninewb Is your device locked and running unmodified GrapheneOS?
GrapheneOS it is, yes. I have captured all the logs as of a couple days ago, just need to get an issue submitted.
