No, that's not new.
But sometimes it goes faster, sometimes it needs a few hours.
I guess, we get it in a few hours, if no developer finds a huge error…

Stephan-P Uh, with respect, that's not true. Based on prior occurrences, release announcements mean that a release is very soon about to be pushed to alpha. If it gets cancelled then the cancellation is, from experience, announced in the testing room in the community chat.

Please note that I don't speak for the GrapheneOS project.

Stephan-P It does not take days. It will be slightly longer than usual for it to reach Alpha today. It's usually around 10 to 30 minutes after it's announced before it gets to Alpha, 6 hours for Beta and under 24 hours for Stable.

In my defense, I'm coming from a Samsung world that actually have a relatively good reputation regarding updates, but theirs tended to take weeks between announcement and arrival on my previous phone.
Since July I feel blessed with my new P7a with GOS and the many major and minor updates that are regularly announced and arriving really really quickly.
From my background the questions about actual availability of releases only shortly after announcement come across ... in a manner that I won't put into writing for now.

I am pleased that GOS is kept up to date. The updates are relatively frequent. Do I have to worry that my monthly data volume will be used up too much?
Or in other words: How many MB do the updates have on average?

You can set your phone to only update over wifi, thats how I have mine setup!

I do wish android/graphene had a per app setting for which apps are allowed to use cellular data (similar to the iphone cellular toggles). But many android apps do have something in their settings where you can disallow or minimize cellular data usage (important in data heavy video/audio apps).

treenutz68 In my case, that's not possible because I don't have a DSL connection, only a mobile data connection. I would have to go to a public hotspot, which is not always advisable.

Getting an error installing on Pixel 6 Pro using flash-all.sh:

        Flashing super, 13/13
Sending 'super' (4136960 KB) FAILED (remote: 'unsupported image size')
        fastboot: error: Command failed

          secrec What's the SHA-256 checksum of super_13.img ?

Dan-cer assuming you're keeping your phone up to date, it should be updating with incremental updates, so updates will usually be pretty small.

This update has effectively bricked my Pixel 5a, now stuck in EDL mode getting the QUSB_BULK_CID error. I don't blame GrapheneOS for it, Pixels are known to do that. Looking around to see if someone else got this problem also.

secrec Have you tried installing it again? SHA-256 matches my copy.

secrec Can you try again with the current 2024080600 release if you were using 2024080500? Can you also try using the web installer?

@GrapheneOS since 2024080500 update added a permanent alarm icon on RIGHT SIDE (usual alarm icon shows on left side) in notification pull down for secondary/work user.

On home screen or apps you can see usual LTE, battery etc icon. Then pull down once or twice and there is a clock icon. My next alarm is 9+ hours away.
