This is probably a Messenger issue but i couldn't find posts anywhere else with this specific issue so thought i would post here in case it is a grapheneos related issue.

I am trying to create a new messenger account on grapheneos. For reference, i am doing this while using a vpn connected to a country in europe so that i can create the account without also having to create a facebook account.

I am following these steps once the app is installed via Aurora store

open the app. select "create new account"
select "get started"
select "use without facebook", then "next"
select confirm
enter name
enter date of birth
select gender
select "sign up with email"

this is as far as i get. entering a legitimate email or even just some random text and selecting next does not do anything. there are no on screen errors or validation messages.

I have tried re-installing the app and installing older versions of the app with the same result.

Below are the logs generated when next is selected at the email screen. It looks like there is an error recorded towards the end.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening and if its something that can be resolved on my side would be welcome.
