Titan_M2 I don't mean having the option, I mean enabling it.
Call recording is not legal in many places, yet we allow it unconditionally. It is up to people how they use the features we provide, and they should always be mindful of their situation and local laws.
Titan_M2 That's good, but there well known situation in airport security checks where officers ask travelers to provide the phone passcode for inspection. I'm pretty sure you officers wouldn't be happy seeing your device being wiped in their hand.
That would be a poor use of the feature. Going through airport security is not a situation in which the device owner is under duress. If someone doesn't plan on allowing someone at the airport to access their data, they should wipe their device before going to the airport (they can restore from a remote encrypted backup later) rather than waiting to be checked and giving out the duress password. If you have time to prepare, you're not under duress.
