With newpipe you can manage subscriptions, receive new video notifications, on screen controls for brightness and volume, open YouTube links in the app and manage playlists, all without an account or signing in.

For system wide you can use a dedicated DNS blocker in the private DNS settings on the phone, usually something like NextDNS is a good choice with lots of control over what does/doesn't get blocked. Other than that using a VPN that has an adblocker will also block system wide. IVPN, ProtonVPN and Mullvad are all good choices.
Just to confirm, is the version you have installed now from the DivestOS repo?

The pixel 9 uses an ultrasonic sensor for the fingerprint so it wouldn't matter if there's low light. I use a privacy screen protector on my 9 pro and it works like a charm. Only thing I think of would be to delete your current fingerprints and redo them with the screen protector applied.Edit - This is the one I use.
On android I use Tubular.
On desktop I use Freetube, should Freetube not work I Librewolf as a dedicated Youtube browser that cleans everything on exit.
All options are used with a VPN.I enjoy his videos, this one is an interesting way of installing apps. What's the benefit of using the owner profile for installing all apps? Easier than checking each profile?
Been a while since I've used my Garmin, been using my trusty 'ol g-shock, but I had it in a secondary profile with no google services installed and it worked fine.

You can also use DNS blocking to add more lists if you prefer. Something like NextDNS or a VPNs ad blocker.
Recently just switched from ProtonVPN to IVPN. Protons Netshield wasn't the best and there's no telling what it blocks cause they don't make their block lists public. IVPN not only tells you what they use but you can custom pick from a lot of popular lists. Speeds, for me, are equally fast with both companies.
Looking forward to flashing my P9P as soon as it arrives! Thanks for the quick work!

Maybe Mint mobile? I use them as a burner when traveling. No real name, use a VPN when signing up, they only know my zip code and not my actual address and paid for the Sim card/service in cash. I also believe if you want to renew the service you can do so with a prepaid card that you can buy with cash.kebab_definite
Graphene explains it here
Its kinda disappointing I know, I'd love to support Firefox as much as I can but when a bunch of security experts (not just GrapheneOS) tell you it's not secure, its best to listen to them.- Edited
I use Tubular, fork of Newpipe with sponsor block added, works perfect. I tried Libretube but spent forever finding an instance that worked or getting errors if I disabled the Piped proxy.
I use Vanadium as my main browser but a lot of websites limit how many articles you can read in a single visit before they ask you to sign up to continue reading. Is there a way to get around that? For now I just close the browser and go back to the site to read each additional article. Its a pain. I know Brave doesn't have this problem but I'm trying to stick to just Vanadium if possible.
prevent VPN apps from having leaks to non-VPN DNS servers while not yet strictly preventing leaks to VPN DNS outside the VPN tunnel due to multiple VPN apps including Proton VPN requiring to reliably connect
I currently use NextDNS for my DNS server, so does this mean it would be best to use Protons DNS?
I use my pixel tablet (with Graphene installed) for probably 90-95% of things instead of my laptop. Web browsing, email, notes, music, maps, etc... are all perfectly fine for me on the pixel tablet. I see a lot of complaints about the lack of a keyboard, mouse and stylus but I never use a stylus and I like my 3rd party keyboard and mouse just fine, it doesn't matter to me it's not an "official accessory". I still need my laptop for a few things that don't work on Android but all in all, I'm very happy with the pixel tablet! YMMV.

duck1 I manually removed them during my initial set up but for whatever reason Brave still pings them. I just block them at the DNS level.
edit - I had one device where the shortcuts weren't removed, after taking your advice, those pings have stopped!
treenutz68 I can chime in on this one, Brave makes quite a few pings, most of which are harmless.

-static.xx.fbcdn.netThis is with all telemetry turned off. It connects to 1st one the most, which makes sense since I use their sync feature. The last 4 are at every start up of the browser which is annoying cause I have top sites turned off but it still pings them.
Speeduser7533 Tuta doesn't use anything Google for their services. I switched to Tuta when I switched to Graphene and learned Proton push services wouldn't work.
As for the pinging of Google from a Proton service it isn't their VPN app cause I use it in my main profile and it doesn't ping anything google. I use their Email and calendar app in another profile and something is pinging. I think it's the email app.I use my pixel tablet for most things now, like web browsing, writing, note taking, emails, music, etc... I have a Windows laptop which I'm trying to phase out but still need it for a couple of applications that don't work on Android. Battery life is good, I can get a few days out of it before it needs charging. I do wish it had more dedicated accessories. I have a 3rd party Bluetooth keyboard and mouse which aren't very streamline when it comes to portability but it works. All in all, I'd recommend it cause I'm very happy with it. It's literally like having a larger version of my pixel 8.
