I am using Pixel 8 and I just turned off memory tagging for my Proton Apps. Everything seems to be working fine now. I haven't encountered any crashes since this change.

I am having the same issue with Proton Apps regularly crashing to the home screen. I have developer options turned off and Play Services set to unrestricted battery usage. I initially thought this was a Proton app issue, but recent app updates haven't helped.
Any others experiencing similar issues?
r3tr0 slightly off topic but which app do you use for scanning?
@r3tr0 - I use Genius Scan and it works really well. I save it to a local folder and then upload it to my Proton Drive from the files app.
Hb1hf if you don't lock Proton Drive with biometrics/pin, it should appear as a location on any files app. Then all you have to do is ask it to make files/folders available offline and you should be done. You can lock PD again when you don't need the files anymore.
@Hb1hf - This works as you described, but I cannot easily save files. For example, if I open a Proton Drive word doc from the Files app with Collabora Office, I can make edits, but I cannot save back to Proton Drive. I would have to save a separate copy in a local drive, reupload that to Proton Drive, and replace the existing file. This is a clunky workflow for me.
On a phone, if I have to make edits in a pinch, this is fine, but not on my productivity focused daily driver device.
I don't have that option under privacy in my Signal app.
When I first launched Molly in my user profile, it asked me if I want to encrypt the database, and I said no. I tried linking again and I see the device name I gave Molly in my Signal app as linked, but messages are not coming in to Molly.
One issue I noticed using the Pixel Tablet is that there is no local folder sync with cloud services. I have Proton Drive and I can't just pick a local folder to sync automatically. You'll have to use a 3rd party tool like Syncthing, but for that to work you still need another device like a Windows PC.
Where is that setting? I am not able to find it.
UndercoverBozo Signal only allows one mobile phone from what i remember.
You're correct. That is why I installed Molly hoping that it would solve my problem.
Since I already have Signal through the Play Store in my Owner profile, I could install Molly FOSS in my user profile, but it says I need to run my own server for unified push notifications. This is not ideal for my right now.
@Nuttso - I would love to get your insight into this.
Thank you.
Has anyone linked Signal and Molly on separate profiles on the same device?
I have Signal on my Owner profile and that works great. I also have a user profile that I use for work and I am in that profile a lot, so I installed Molly in that profile hoping to link it to my main Signal account in my Owner profile.
Problem:
I got the Link Device QR code in Molly, I used another device to take a picture of that since Molly does not allow taking screenshots. I then switched to my Owner profile to add the linked device in Signal, which worked, but when I switched back to my user profile, Molly reset itself and does not recognize the link.
I am on the Molly v7.8.1-1 downloaded from F-Droid.
Does it work differently on Windows? Because I can freely open, edit and save files in a cloud folder without the hassle of downloading and uploading.
Is there another cloud service that offers the same level of convenience on Android?
For example, I use Markor as my mark down editor for .md files, but it can only access on-device files from within the app. Even though Proton Drive downloads a copy and stores my files locally on the device, Markor cannot access the Proton Drive cloud folder.
I can go to the files app and select the .md file which does open with Markor, but Markor cannot save edits.

Maybe Markor is not the right app for what I am trying to do, but other apps behave in a similar way. I am hoping the GOS community has a solution here.

I currently use Proton Drive and I have generally been happy with their ecosystem, but I cannot edit .md, .txt, .docx, .xlsx, etc. from my Proton Drive app or the GOS Files app even if I have the corresponding apps that can edit these files.

I haven't explored Nextcloud yet, but if that is the only option, I will definitely check them out. Does editing work without any lag as it would on a native app made for these file types? Also, does it allow offline editing?
What is the limitation with editing files in cloud folders? I can navigate to my cloud provider/folder through the files app and open them with various apps, but none of them allow editing.
I am trying to see if I can use the Pixel Tablet with GOS as my daily driver to replace my Windows PC, but this is a core functionality that I need that all desktop PCs currently have. I explored using Syncthing, but that still requires that I keep a Windows PC around for syncing purposes.
Does the GOS community have any solutions to this?
Thank you.
Can you explain what app you use with Twilio? Do you get group SMS?
Thank you for that explanation. Can the Play Store see my IP address?
The only thing that I can think of (with my limited technical knowledge) is that if I use a throwaway account with the Play Store on GOS and I log into my personal Google account on another device on the same network, Google might be able to connect the two based on both logins coming from the same IP. I am assuming they won't be able to tell for sure that it is the same person, but perhaps they know that both logins came from the same house hold. Is this a valid concern?
[deleted] I don't use Google Play in order to get just that extra bit of privacy.
Technically Google could fingerprint you based on your throwaway account, but even if you don't sign into an account, I am assuming they have other device level identifiers that they could use to fingerprint you. Is that accurate?
If that is true, for folks like myself that use Play Service and Store for notification purposes (which I would think is a large user base) there is absolutely no advantage to using Aurora store.
I currently have Play Services and Store installed for notifications. I have not signed into a google account and get all my apps through Aurora or F-Droid stores.
If Play Store can already see all of the apps I have installed regardless of the source, I am not gaining any extra privacy by using Aurora store. I could just use the GOS recommended approach of using a throwaway google account and get all of my non-F-Droid apps from the Play Store. Is this the logic behind the recommendation?
GrapheneOS Apps with this constraint depend on Play services and the Play Store, so why not install them from the sandboxed Play Store? That's much more secure and you can still use a throwaway account. Using shared throwaway accounts also creates potential security issues and is clearly against the terms of use.
What information does the Sandboxed Play Store have access to on a GOS device?
Can it see all of the apps installed on the device regardless of the installation source or does it only see apps installed through the play store?
