Since Divest ended today, I have thought about the Chromium based Browsers for Users like me, who are not yet on GrapheneOS and the only two Browsers that came to my mind, was Brave and Cromite. And since Brave has this Crypto etc. I'm using Cromite now. And both have not been recommended here in the Forum but I was wondering @GrapheneOS which one of both would be better in terms of Security and Privacy? That would be really interesting to know actually! If I forgot any Chromium based Browsers, please feel free to tell them.

And I have this Feeling that Cromite could stop anytime in the Future too. That would mean for non GrapheneOS Users, that the only Chromium based Browser they could use, would be Brave then.

DeletedUser88 Which Apk Version do I need to choose?
    Bravearm64universal.apk
    Bravemonoarm.apk
    Bravemonoarm64.apk

It says in Obtainium when downloading that my Device supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a and armeabi. And I did read in the Forum that one did say that Bravearm64Universal is the apk he thinks was the recommended one...But I don't know...And how can I enable that I only get the stable release apk Updates? One Person in the Forum told to write .* Release. * in the Brave option field and enable pre releases that no beta or Nightly get's in the way, but it does not find any Version...The word release how must I write that there in the right way? I hope you can help me.

DeletedUser88 And the good thing now when I use it, instead of Cromite is, that I will have Adblocker against cookies asking me and in YouTube no ads anymore too, which both are what I always loved and missed since a while. And what I like more about Brave is that it is an well established Company, compared to Cromite...And in the end if Cromite ends too, then everyone would need to switch still to Brave haha! But now I'm wondering: Was Mulch until today not the best next option after Vanadium? Because it has Patches from Vanadium and more...Maybe you know an Answer to that?

        DeletedUser34 Bravearm64universal.apk

        This is the correct one.

DeletedUser34 Was Mulch until today not the best next option after Vanadium?

Mulch was the best option for a browser if security was your maximum priority AND you were not on GrapheneOS. Mulch, like Vanadium, was less resistant to fingerprinting than Brave was. Mulch also did not have content blocking compared to Vanadium which has basic content blocking and Brave which has the strongest content blocking.

DeletedUser88 Okay, thank you so much! May I ask about how I can only get the stable releases? Meaning no beta or nightly. Does only latest Tag solve this Issue or do I need to enter release in the Brave option title before downloading and activating pre releases that it skips beta and nightly? And what do I need to write exactly because with only releases it does not found any...

Oh wow, that's so interesting. Thank you for telling!

DeletedUser34 Write Release in the section Filter Release Titles by Regular Expression and write arm64universal in the section Filter APKs by Regular Expression. Please note that it is case-sensitive so you do need to write it exactly as I wrote it. No other changes should be necessary. Let me know if this works.

What a sad way to end the year. I wish SkewedZeppelin all the best and owe him a thank you for paving my road to ultimate privacy and towards GrapheneOS.

Just a heads up by the way you can hide some of the crypto stuff if you are uninterested like I am.

You can hide the brave rewards icon in the settings in the appearance category.

And if you are willing to mess with flags in chrome://flags you can hide the wallet by changing #native-brave-wallet to Disabled.

Hope this helps make the browser more desirable! It certainly helped me. Wish I could do it for every additional feature but that sadly is not possible as of today.

Is there interest in forking the DivestOS apps?

Hypatia, Carrion, Mull and Mulch are all really useful.

I personally could boil it down to just Mull, as no other browser has extension support.

Dumdum I tried that but it does sadly not find any Version too...I don't know what to do that it works...I could just use latest tag but I don't know if it then would skip the beta and nightly...

DeletedUser34 no, making extensions work on a browser with absolutely no support for it is out of scope.

You can look at Kiwix, they literally changed desktop Chromium to work on Android, just to get extension support.

Dumdum I tried that too, but it does not work. Only what works is: Enable latest Tag and typing in Release. But not arm64Universal. I tried arm64Universal, but it does not work before downloading, only after that it changes to that if I type it in. But it get's saved as Bravearm64Universal. But if I type in Bravearm64Universal before downloading that does not work too. Should I use it with latest tag and Release typed in? And should I after downloading leave it like that or type in arm64Universal that it get's saved as Bravearm64Universal? I'm wondering if that would make any difference and I'm worried it could stop finding new Versions, since it did not accept it before downloading.
