Perhaps I spoke too soon. It took me to the Play Store also, but I was looking for a Google app in that case so it seemed normal. Prior to installing the nightly searches in Aurora didn't work and they si now
Aurora Store

Hi,
It used to be possible for the play store to update apps installed by Aurora, and vice versa (except that there was an extra prompt to validate if I recall correctly).
Now my play store does not find any update for apps unless I specifically search for the app and open it's page, in which case the "install" button changes to "update".
Any idea why that is ? I can't reasonably manually reinstall all apps from the play store.
Thanks !

Has ANYONE got this working... today is the 16 May 2023, and I STILL can't understand how to get this working. Here's what I have tried again today:
1) I watched this short vid to show me what to do... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQosj8Ak0tk
2) I have installed the Nightly Build from here (https://files.auroraoss.com/?folder=AuroraStore/Nightly), opened and granted the usual permissions it wants.
3) I THEN "long pressed" Aurora Store App icon to get "App Info", then tapped "Open By Default" which the toggle switch is already turned "on"... then tapped "Add Link", but the two links that are shown in the video that I am meant to "tick" are GREYED OUT...
4) I installed Firefox for this as Vanadium didnt give me the option to "open in external app" but Firefox does:
So... when I then try to open an app link, like the one on the Signal Webpage, and select "open in external app" it does NOT use Aurora Store, but still opens Play Store...
ANYONE got this working yet... ??? Please help me understand what I am doing wrong... :(
Many thanks
VAULT
YES!!!! Got it working... Finally :)

VAULT glad to hear it's working for you. If in the future it fails to fetch app details, just restart Aurora to open a new session and tap on the link again.

I tried the following steps. I am getting a 'Oops, This account is rate limited.' error.
- Search for 'Google play appname' on duckduckgo
- Copied the app link
- Opened a new session on Aurora store
- Pasted the link in the Search field of Aurora store
- Error is displayed
Is there a hack to bypass the rate limiting error?
I do not wish to use the apk file, assuming it is even available outside of Google store which I don't think it is, as it is a bank app, and I would rather source it from Google playstore, but install it from Aurora store using anonymous login.
When is Aurora store going to fix these issues?

tastazardo Sigh.....I have the same issue on my P7P.
Aurora is working on something as they've had a new nightly build each day for the last couple of weeks.
I'm just going to wait it out.

tastazardo Set up Aurora Store to open Play Store links in its "app info" settings. Then find the google play link of the app of your interest in Vanadium and tap on it. It should open in Aurora. Make sure you open new session beforehand to prevent "Failed to fetch app info" message. It just works and this is how I use it. btw this will work even on old stable 4.1.1 release.
Dang, Sarge [deleted] !
A Vanadium click opens up an Aurora Store page!?
It works; and it is scary! I'll install the google play link; get my Aurora page; install; and promptly remove that link (what..... me paranoid) 'til I can understand what's happening.
Ok, so the open Google play links seemed to work for a while... it's now saying "Failed to fetch app details" when Aurora opens links.
Graphene1 V4.2.2 tried logging out and now it's not logging into the Anonymous account

Thanks, matchboxbananasynergy !
Makes sense!
Err... is there any tool other than adb that I can use to view/audit established app links?
Does this feature present an opportunity for mischief?

As of this moment, I am able to search Aurora Store (v4.1.1, P6).
Hopefully this is replicable for others.
Thank-you to those who patched the search issue - it's been a while.
Me too on 4.2.2..but there is ntothing done by Aurora..maybe google devided to let us play as in the past..😜 Let us see if this is persistent...
[deleted] The option in Aurora Store to Open Supported Links is greyed out for me. I can see the links when I press Add Link, just can't select them.
Why would this be? Am confused.
treequell Ah, yes that works. The solution had not crossed my mind.
Thank you very much.
