I have the same issue
Aurora Store
[deleted]
I can not verify this at the moment but have you guys by any chance sandboxed Google Play installed and perhaps opening links assigned to Play Store? Try to remove association there first.
Yes I did. So I removed the association from Google Play and I was able to assign them to Aurora. However, when I search for an app nothing I try comes up, even though it exists there

HoarseMan if you'te not sure, try this step

[deleted] I don't stream any music, I have a old school MP3 collection, so I need to do stuff like sort genres and authors, playlists, etc. I might try Total Commander as a waypoint, while I wait for Aurora to be fixed and see if that fixes Musicolet. Thanks man!
Anyone know why Fdroid is offering Aurora 4.2.1 but the Aurora website and gitlabs is only giving the 4.1.1 version??
User2288 I thought that was odd as well.
User2288 Because development has been taken over by other developers, and the main developer is not around to sign new releases.
F-Droid builds and signs apps themselves, so that's why it's being updated there. It's not an ideal situation.
The main developer has shown their face to say they're around, but they're apparently not around enough to sign new releases.

Thanks for the update.
I plan to move from /e/OS to GrapheneOS but the fact that there's no properly working privacy-focus app store holds me back. Has anyone tried installing the open-source App Lounge from /e/OS on GrapheneOS?
https://doc.e.foundation/app-lounge
I'm using it on /e/OS and it works great. The only thing I'm missing there is that it does not show release notes when updating apps which is something Aurora does.
[deleted]
bocekm it clearly states here it only works on /e/OS, not on other Android distros

Folks, the latest nightly build of Aurora Store has a workaround for the search issue: when searching for an item, it opens the results in a webview and we can then tap to the app we need and then tap to "Open in App" in the top and it will open it in Aurora Store. Works great within the app, without having to open the browser and searching the item as was suggested earlier.
bocekm You might want to look at @Volen's response.
Also, keep in mind that GrapheneOS can also allow you to use Play Store while keeping it sandboxed like other apps, which you may need if you want paid apps, or need apps that use Play Asset Delivery etc.
You can read more about it here:
https://grapheneos.org/features#sandboxed-google-play
Of course, that's completely opt-in, so you can pick and choose whatever you want.

P7P; I downloaded the latest AS from F-Droid and it didn't work. Turned off my always-on VPN and it worked fine.
HTH. (I do have the play store open by default link disabled)
I'm having trouble with Aurora, someone mentioned "rate limited", that's my problem, when searching I get a message "Oops, This account is rate limited" I have no idea what that means. Any help appreciated.

Download the latest nightly build of Aurora Store. It has a workaround built-in as I mentioned in my post above.
You can download it from here: https://files.auroraoss.com/?folder=AuroraDroid/Nightly
Thanks Volen, I installed it into GrapheneOS but got stuck somewhere where it mentions "repositories", I will try again. Thanks Treequell for the link also.
Not too impressed with Aurora Droid, I can't even find apps I downloaded from Aurora, a lot is missing.
