No, that does not mean that at all. It just means that it can take a little bit of time before you get your update.

And to whom it may concern regarding releases:

A release announcement indicates that the source code tags are available and that the official builds will soon be pushed out via the Alpha channel.

Releases are tested by the developers and are then pushed out via the Alpha channel. The release is then pushed out via the Beta channel shortly afterwards. Finally, the release is then pushed out via the Stable channel after being tested by some users using the Beta channel

      akc3n just asking, since i got curious it wasn't being mentioned on any while scrolling down, I doo not personally *own a pixel 8 anyways.

        Hi there,

        first of all I want to say that I have been a happy user of GrapheneOS for two years now. I thank the developers for their efforts providing us with such a great OS.
        Usage of my Pixel 6 has become cumbersome since GrapheneOS version 2023121200. Right now I am on 2024010400 and still the following problems persist.
        The problems I am experiencing are:

        • closing a single app swiping them up. Its almost impossible to swipe them so far up that they are closing.
        • same goes for deleting notifications. Almost impossible to swipe them so far to the left that they eventually close.
        • scrolling: stops immediately as soon as I release the finger from the screen. This is a real drag when scrolling through pictures and the like. It doesn't happen when reading through a website on vanadium. But the behaviour is the same when scrolling through tabs in the overview. Same behaviour when reading emails. Scrolling inside a mail works as expected. Scrolling through the Inbox immediately stops when releasing the finger from the display.

        Is this normal behaviour now or am I experiencing a bug? Is there any setting which controls this behaviour?

          DanielP have you tried increasing/decreasing touch sensitivity in the settings? As a workoround to swiping have you used Clear all, either for Notifications in the shade or apps from Recent screen?

              I am using 3 Button navigation so I guess this may not be applicable. I tried anyway - no difference.
              The problem also persists when using gesture navigation.
              To clear all is no problem with either one but I don't want that necessarily.
              I could probably live with that but the way scrolling currently works is a real pain.
              I also think these may be related issues.

                DanielP this is a bug, it happens to me at times . a restart usually fixes it .

                        I think, there are less users of this new devices = less testers for this separate version with additional security features.

                        I have both, P7P and P8P – so I am also waiting for the stable version for my new daily driver P8P.
                        And because my P8P is my daily driver, I can't risk to use an alpha or beta version of GOS.
                        Otherwise I would have switched the release channel to beta or even alpha like some others here and would already be using the very latest version on the P8P.
                        You shouldn't do that with your main phone, but only with a second device or an older test device.

                            2024010400 is in Alpha for Pixel 5a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro now (already Stable for everything else since earlier today, but there was a 2 day AOSP kernel tag delay for these due to a mistake). Will be moving along quickly to Beta and Stable for those. Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 extended support release for 2024010400 is also coming very soon

                                All of your issues seems like the cause is that animations has been turned off, or reduced. You can find that in developer options on the phone. Did you install a 3rd party launcher? Maybe that messed with animations? Or a theme-pack?

                                    Go to settings, type in the search field “animation”, then you get the right place w/o developer menu.
                                    I guess, the menu name is “Remove Animations”?
                                    I am German and am not sure with the English term in that Settings menu, but I guess you will find it.
                                    Maybe you remembering the last changes you've made there?

                                    I have this switch on at my P7P, but off on my P8P.
                                    For me it's fine, but if Panda-na's guessing is right, then this could be the switch to toggle as your remedy.

                                    Tip for such cases:
                                    Make a screenshot before and after changes of settings.
                                    If there are problems afterwards, remember the screenshots and find the old setting more quickly. ;-)

                                          Did anyone noticed huge battery consumption on the pixel 8 after update? On my pixel it dropped from around 80% to 45% in 6h, SOT 30min, no background processes running

                                            I found the animation settings. No matter how I set them the behaviour remains the same. ..:-(

                                                Have you tried to switch to gesture navigation? It's most probably not at all related but maybe worth a try? A few day ago someone here mentioned that gesture navigation is (becoming?) Android's new default navigation while the 3 button navigation is being phased out and may cause bugs.

                                                        I don't have this error on my two newer Pixel phones.
                                                        Perhaps it only occurs in the firmware version for the Pixel 6 model series.
                                                        I hope that the developers will find a solution for this as well.
