hellraizzer Keep an eye on social media. Updates are regularly posted on there.
Pixel 4a 5G file transfer to Windows PC via MTP suddenly froze and phone stopped showing up completely in "This PC" after I tried to fix the freeze by wiping cache and data for:
Downloads
Download Manager
Files
MTP Host
I also tried "Reset App Preferences", but doing so didn't resolve the issue.
Note: after wiping cache and data for the 4 apps listed above, Windows device manager stopped detecting my phone by assigned host name (the one in "About") and began detecting it as "MTP USB Device", but without phone showing up in " This PC".
Additionally, default data transfer settings ("No Data Transfer") stopped applying and the phone simply began applying whichever option was the last one selected, even after phone reboot, but again, all options became dysfunctional after I cleared cache and wiped data for mentioned apps. I've done that on Android 13 without issues, except for host name resetting itself to default "Pixel 4a 5G".
I hope this can be reproduced and fixed.
I tried to install Android 14 OTA update on Pixel 5 using both system updater and adb sideload, but after rebooting it enters bootloop. I waited for about 10 minutes, when it did not open, I forcefully restarted it, and it opened in the old Android 13 version. I wonder where is the problem? Is there a bug in the Pixel 5 build?
kullanici32 bootloop or was it stuck on the graphene logo ?
If it was on the logo , it was finalizing the update this could take a long time depending on how many apps.
The 2023100600 release has been replaced by 2023100800. The post has been updated with links to 2023100800. It's currently in the experimental channel but will be pushed out via the alpha channel too so the instructions above won't be necessary anymore in around an hour. Pixel Fold has been added back since the issues with it were addressed along with a bunch of other regressions reported by users.
The 2023100800 release is now available in the Alpha channel so the instructions here are obsolete.
Is fingerprint and multiple profiles back and forth issue resolved in android 14?
Skyway Yes, it entered the bootloop at the grapheneos logo, but it took 10 minutes. Normally, when you make an update, the applications optimization screen would take about 1 or 2 minutes. Anyway, now I'm trying to download and install it again.
What's with the darker shade of gray as a background to the app drawer?
GrapheneOS There are assorted aesthetic issues to address such non-functional references to Google features which aren't included in the OS in the Settings app, etc.
Why are these even in AOSP?
GrapheneOS There aren't really any significant known issues yet
This statement says nothing meaningful. Could you elaborate please.
I am experiencing that the external Lanucher is working not as intended after the update to 14. It is dissapring and I have to relunch it again.
I am running the alpha version, and my simple contacts app didn't show my davx5 contacts anymore. I didn't put too much time in it, and remove the app and running with the default gos included app now. So far all is running fine.
GrapheneOS Awesome 👍
How do I switch from the experimental to the stable version?
Javcek The Stable release has not been released yet. The Alpha release was released yesterday. Go to Settings -> System -> System update -> Release channel and set it to Alpha. Once you do that, click on Check for updates and you should be good to go.
Javcek You're welcome.
JayJay Doesn't seem to be, at least the following ones are still around
