• GeneralPixel 6a
  • biometrics not available after switching back to owner profile

I have taken the advice of the documentation and put any apps that absolutely depend on Google Play Services in their own profile. When I switch back to the main or "owner" I have to sign in with my password which makes sense. But then I have to either go into my screen lock settings and toggle fingerprint off and back on again or reboot my phone to make the fingerprint reader show back up again. I tried disabling biometrics for the secondary profile and this seemed to help but only for about a day and we are back to the same behavior. Thoughts?

I've got the same issue, it's a known bug. Waiting for the fix.

Like XXxTriviumxX said, this a known bug, not coming from Grapheneos but from AOSP, so from Google

For what it's worth, I have also been experiencing this bug for some time now on a Pixel 7. Like OP said, an effective, albeit annoying, workaround is to go to:

Settings > Security > Fingerprint Unlock > Input your PIN/Password > Allow fingerprint unlocking > Toggle OFF > Toggle back to ON

I regularly utilize a second profile so I have to do the above frequently. I'm hoping Google addresses this issue soon.
