Is it in the roadmap to add an option to import/export bookmark in Vanadium such as in Bromite/Cromite? It would be very nice and this missing feature is quite a deal breaker for me (I have 950 bookmarks on Bromite and I don't want to manually add them one by one)
Import/export bookmark vanadium
Bachi There isn't a roadmap for that feature, though it has been requested: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/Vanadium/issues/149. GitHub is the best place to keep track of feature requests, as opposed to this Forum.

AlanZ It's been inquired a bunch. Look at previous posts.

I am beginning to sound like a contrarian, but may I suggest treating it as a security/privacy feature?
- if anayone finds a way ro access those 950 bookmarks it would profile you really well. Being forced to keep fewer is better for your own security. Border crossings, anyone?
- it forced me to organize my, uhm, ship. I now only keep 2 dozen bookmarks and store the rest in an encrypted note. It's just a click away.
- i want security/privacy. Less code sees to that.
- I also now crave simplicity and streamlined experience. Having not seen an iDevice in two years, I recently played with a friend's iPhone - holy swear, did it ever get bloated and contrived.
Definitely don't want all them features.... I vote for keeping it simple (add maybe 'empty history/cookies' on exit, but that's it).
Call me crazy, I don't use bookmarks at all on my phone. When I'm home, I host homepage to quickly access my self hosted services and such but other than that, I just type in whatever I'm wanting to go to. Out of curiosity, what are people needing bookmarks for @AlanZ? If it's for #readlater or #futurereference stuff, wouldn't a secure note satisfy this need like @[deleted] suggests?

I literally cannot believe people are arguing against having bookmarks! Does this really need justification? We already have them, it's part of Vanadium's codebase, the only thing one is asking for is local import/export, just like:
- Contacts
- Passwords
- Oh, I don't know - Obtanium backups
- Device backups and etc.
No, a secure note won't do, I want to start typing in my address bar and have it reference my bookmarks first; they are the essence and backbone of all my years of browsing, rendering the Web less chaotic. Why on earth should we regress in browser design? What is next - why do we need graphics?

AlanZ I agree with you, and I wish I could make a pull request for this.
@AlanZ whoa, settle down. I'm not arguing that you shouldn't have bookmarks. The more features, the better for everyone. I was just genuinely curious why it seems some people are making a big deal out of it. If it's just part of your work flow and how you interact with the internet then fair enough, no more argument needed.
I guess I don't browse the internet enough to require bookmarks. The new tab 8 recommended sites are far more than enough for me. Everything else, I keep in a note and that note isn't very long.
Again, not trying to argue with you, just curious about others' work flow. Maybe there's something useful I could learn.

I didn't mean to sound defensive. Sorry if it came out this way.
Bachi hopefully not a deal breaker for the os itself but I see where you are coming from and hope this feature comes as well. I too have like 500-600 bookmarks since I use them to avoid phishing links and rarely use the search engine directly itself. My compromise was using a different browser, mull, opted to sign into firefox and sync my bookmarks on my personal user profile but use vanadium to sign into more sensitive websites on my security user profile. Not the best privacy wise, but sure as hell bests manually adding in links into vanadium like I did. As for importing and exporting bookmarks from vanadium, I created a spreadsheet, seperated which bookmarks were necessary from my main file backup and added them in which took about 2 hours for 150ish bookmarks then I moved that spreadsheet over to my security user profile and manually added each website into vanadium's bookmarks. Assuming you already have a main backup of those 950 bookmarks and are deadset on using vanadium maybe keep track of the ones you usually use and just add those in instead or do go about adding each of those website over the course of several days to not frustrate yourself. Good luck and godspeed
