Hi, why use aurora when we have the real play store on GrapheneOS?
DeletedUser115 If your consumer applications embed Google libraries, whether you have the sandbox play service installed or not makes no difference because the applications will always have Google libraries.
[deleted] Correct, they would still have Google libraries. What makes a difference though is whether such libraries are able to communicate with Play Services or not. Practically this affects how much data Google would be able to collect from your phone.
Is Aurora trustworthy? Honestly?
[deleted] yes 😮💨🙄
[deleted] Hi, why use aurora when we have the real play store on GrapheneOS?
Because I don't want the playstore on my system and I don't want my app instances associated with a unique google account.

Is Play store?
What's your definition of trust worthy?
I consider Aurora more trust worthy than Play. Maybe less secure, but still more trust worthy.
Personally, my logic is to avoid multiplying trust.
As Aurora acts as a kind of proxy, I prefer to go directly through google, more secure, than to add a third party.
The fact that aurora didn't get an update for a year and then had difficulty applying an update, other than on F-droid, leaves me very doubtful about the trust I could place in it.
