Yes, it's relatively pricey, and competition is hard.

MineralWater People can get a brandnew iPad for 100€ or more less,

I don't know where you live, but certainly around my area (around Northern Europe) you cannot get a brand-new iPad for under the equivalent of 400€. Not even a refurbished one will go for under 100€.
Anyway, was just informed I won't get a salary next month, so that's actually nay for me at this time. :-)

Yes but the difference is your ipad wont be private! I do agree the price tag seems expensive but i for one am excited about having a GOS tablet. I was about to start learning Linux as far as laptops etc go but now will just wait for the GOS tablet.

This is news to me. In the bad old days of being a huge Apple fan I loved the iPad. I still have one, but since I cancelled my Apple account/ID the thing is almost useless.

I'm happy with a Pixel 6A and a windows 10 laptop with no microsoft account, but if the tablet worked well with GOS I would be tempted. However, Australian prices are way above US so it sounds expensive. Mind you, I paid $1300AU for the iPad and that was about my fifth ipad, I was really stupid in those days.

Just found out the Australian price is $900, well I paid $600 for a Pixel 6A, so that's not to bad. I like the charging station/speaker but wonder if it can be charged without the dock.
Is there anyone near Tasmania that can install GOS? (before you clever people tell me how easy it is, not for me it ain't!!0

MineralWater People can get a brandnew iPad for 100€ or more less, whilst in the android field you can get similar tablets like this pixel tablet for 50% of Googles fantasy price.

eyeCrap is a pointless comparison, since it is not a substitutable product. For my uses, it is absolutely WORTHLESS. If somebody GAVE me one, I'd bend it in half and chuck it in the trash.

And "similar" android tablets aren't unlockable, which makes them useless as well.

Too big for me. I'm always looking for 7-8 inch size tablet. Seems to be fewer and fewer of that size being made.

The last time I bought an ipad (and it was the last time ever) I paid $AU1300. The pixel tablet is $AU900 here, and if all my apps on the pixel phone work as well it would a great addition. It could easily replace my windows laptop.
The only problem I see is the Aurora Store. I'd like to see that fixed before I buy another device with Graphene OS (which is really fantastic)

I don't think the price is that high compared with an iPad with equivalent memory.

MineralWater I don't think like you at all. You compare it to an iPad, but an ipade is not sold with a dock that makes a speaker. What's more, with equivalent memory and power, it's the same price at Apple, and the pixel tablet is even cheaper if you take out the price of the dock. Google isn't going to abandon the picole tablet, since it will eventually replace the nest tablet.

I haven't played with Pixel Tablet yet and I don't expect it to be a full replacement for iPad. That said, it's amazing to be able to use a larger screen while enjoying the security of GrapheneOS. To me it's a huge deal 🌷

Does anyone know if the tablet can be charged with a USB or USBC cable as well as the dock? I wouldn't fancy carting the speaker around to charge it when on the road or away from home.

Well I've been using the Tablet for six weeks now and I love it. I also purchased the case / cover which is brilliantly designed, far more sturdy and functional than anything Apple ever made (and I've used everything Apple made). there are a couple of annoying bugs and some apps don't make full use of the screen, but that will come in time. The battery is good, the dock very useful although sound quality is not a lot better than the four built in speakers on the tablet - which are very good.
For me it was worth every penny, there is not much I did on the ipad that I cannot do on the Pixel Tablet, and Graphene OS works well.
