FYI, I bought my Pixel 6a from the Google Store. I'll be monitoring this and will report back when I receive my physical SIM on 8/12.

How long after Android 13 is released might we expect GOS to ship with it?

Got my Visible SIM today. It activated and works just fine. I'll try converting to eSIM in the future.

Here is one solution for eSIM activation on Visible. However, someone I was helping recently was still having issues and that didn't work for them. They previously hadn't activated the eSIM on stock OS so it's possible you may need to activate it there first.

Has anyone solved this? I am running into this issue on a Pixel 4a (non 5g). My physical sim slot is acting up and I'd like to switch to eSIM but I get the "must be in the US" error. I have tried everything suggested except a factory reset.

Supposedly it will work if you first perform e-Sim activation on stock OS on the phone you wish to flash Graphene on.

eSIM was not present in GrapheneOS after installing it in the stock Pixel 4a image. I worked with Visible customer service and was unable to make eSIM work with GrapheneOS. eSIM would install (after Visible Customer Service gave me a QA code for it) but I only had data, no voice, SMS, MMS.

Is there any movement on this? Looks like esim does not work unless you first installed before installing grapheneos?
I'm sure there probably isn't anything on the graphine side, it's a visible issue, sigh...

Unfortunately, it has to be activated from the visible app, which seems to "hang" on a white screen after you select the plan you want to use. But after further discussion on the Visible forum, I don't think I'm going with Visible.

Glad to report that the QR code sent by the agent via e-mail seems to have worked seamlessly. App-based eSIM transfer/activation continues to be an issue if one is setting up the eSIM in GrapheneOS the first time.

Kryptos I use a SIMO Solis 5G WiFi HotSpot for travel, it has en eSim, and you can load GBs with a debit card. It's not an intuitive device to configure, including loading data plans, but it works well once configured. Disappointed to hear that Google Services are required on the owners profile, as I was just getting ready to activate, but I figured as much, considering how GoS works.

FWIW, the post you responded to is now nearly two years old. It may or may not accurately describe the current state of affairs.

You're referring to an out of date thread. That's no longer the case. eSIMs no longer require Google Play Services at all.

Just installed today and have been playing with it.

Keeps saying I am NOT in the USA. Have Mullvad VPN but that was eventually fully turned OFF ( Auto-connect & Lockdown mode verified ) with multiple reboots. First tried different cities with a few reboots with Location ON.

I have been noticing more that have this in the last month and causing issues. My Domino's app I have running in Private Spaces and yet I still do not get a text when I set it give a heads up 4 minutes before delivery or 75% of the time do not get those 10 extra bonus points. This happened about 3 months ago or maybe 5, don't use it that often really.

Looks like I need to use the website to activate. May have to wait another month or so.
