Hmmm... interesting: So I just tested my P7P on Aero mode + Wifi Calling enabled and the SMS did NOT send so just confirming for you something does seem wrong...
Why does SMS still work in Airplane mode?
Dual SIM ?
VAULT Not dual sim, but I used to have WiFi Calling on and I turned it off. I can't make or receive calls now, only SMS.

I think it is because you had WiFi calling enabled. Somebody else had the same issue and only could work around it by disabling the SIM apparently

nrt Yes, WiFi is on.
WiFi calling bug
nrt Is this a known bug?
Idk. Its upstream issue
WiFi calling has other upstream issues

Could it by related to RCS, if you had it enabled?
f13a-6c3a I don't know what that is. Where would I check to see if it's enabled?
nodsocket Wi-Fi calling toggles Wi-Fi calling not texting.

GrapheneOS Pretty sure Wi-Fi calling also enables SMS to be send over Wi-Fi as well. Maybe this is a carrier dependent. If I don't have it enable I get zero calls or text at work when in areas with zero service like basement of hospital. Having it enabled allows me to send and receive sms/text messages with zero cell signal.

Nothing to do with wifi calling, just wifi itself. Is it me or certain people cherry pick issues that are well known on the internet to present them here. Turn your airplane mode on, wifi off and no messages will slip through. As far as I have seen, certain carriers (without further explanation which one) permit sending sms over internet as data packets.
treequell I do not have Google messages installed.
Any updates? Were the issues fixed?
