Miles My current knowledge on the matter was convinced locales and timezones don't have any influence on the canvas fingerprint hash in the scenario u responded to (both same GOS pixel device, same os build number & same vanadium version).
However, i'm no expert and my current knowledge could have a hole, as i thought it may be plausible that locales has an effect on it, say because of different font fallback for some specific locales or something along those lines. Timezone could in theory perhaps also have an effect if the time is drawn on the canvas, however i think that would be kinda stupid as the hash intended for tracking purposes, would change every minute/second. So i was fairly confident timezone has no influence on the canvas fingerprint hash. Locales? Unlikely in the scenario described, but perhaps plausible.
That said, i tested it.
In my owner profile, locale is set to English, timezone i'd rather not specify.
I've created a new profile, locale set to Russian (another alphabet than English, to try the perhaps plausible theory of another font fallback), and timezone set to Afghanistan, kinda far away from the timezone in my owner profile.
My device: Pixel 9 pro
Build number: 2026012100
Vanadium: 144.0.7559.90.0
Canvas fingerprint test used: https://browserleaks.com/canvas
Both profiles returned the exact same hash:
5ed90f76eafeb2ea007b9926f9a62af1
Meaning -highly likely - in the scenario desribed initially, locales and timezone has no impact on the canvas fingerprint hash specifically.
I'm also fairly confident to post the hash, as it should be identical for everyone on a pixel 9 pro with same buildnr and vanadium (latest stable as of date basically), using the same canvas fingerprint test. Perhaps others with a pixel 9 pro on latest stable can confirm here.
