Will my "must have" apps work with GOS?

Hello: Im about ready to buy a privacy phone, but I want to know if several of my MUST-HAVE apps work fully on a GrapheneOS phone. Being brand new to privacy phones, and not finding answers in about 20 hours of online searching, I thought Id try here. What Im wondering is, if someone here "knows-for-a-fact," (as for example from personal experience), if these apps do work properly on GrapheneOS phones (and if not, is it known why?).
The Apps in question are these: Abode home security app. the Eufy security app. Ecoflows app. Ecobees thermostat app. The HoSmart driveway motion detectors app. The whole Proton security Suite. Those are my must-haves. Then, heres a few apps that arent must-have deal-breakers, but Im hoping someone can confirm these work: BTech radio apps. DJI drone apps. Carrington app. Organic Maps App. I kno someone is pulling teeth right now thinking how dumb this question may be, but as a professional level ignoramus, I am just cobbling together knowledge about this field now. Thanks for any knowledge.

trythis3 I can verify Eufy works, some. Of GrapheneOS's exploit protections crash it though so you'll have to tinker with disabling some of them to see what works. I don't remember the exact combination.

userofgos Do you get push notifications? If so, can you say what settings you have to achieve that? I have play services installed, and have changed de-bugging and exploit attacks settings on and off, as advised like when dealing with banking apps. Cant get push notifications when Eufy cameras trigger. Same for Abode's app, when alarm triggers. This will be a deal breaker for me, and the end of the privacy phone experiment. Thanks for anything relevant here.

I have a Pixel 8a, but I'm 99% certain these apps work on all GrapheneOS supported devices.

trythis3 unless someone personally uses these apps, it's difficult to confirm if they'll have all their functionality. In general, I've found it rare that an app doesn't work.

My recommendation would be to get an older Pixel (e.g. 8a) to play with and verify everything works the way you want it to. That way you're maybe not investing too much financially if it doesn't play out the way you're hoping.

That being said, I'll reiterate that I honestly don't think I've ever been stopped from using an app/service due to being on GOS.

I don't use this app so I can't verify for you. However like others have said it is not often an app doesn't work.

Being to strict like this often causes months of delay

Every app maker Ive written to, ie Abode, Eufy, Ecoflow, DJI, Proton, HoSmart, ALL say their apps wont work on a degoogled phone! especially Abode said there wont be any push notifications, which is what is needed for a security system. Obviously, this claim from all the customer srvc people isnt true according to many Graphene users.
Any way, thanks for your assessment, I do hope someone has experience with Abode and Eufy security functions to confirm they work as Im relectant to make the jump from the iPhone if it wont work.

trythis3 let me clarify by saying I'm assuming you will be using Google Play Services (GPS). They are correct that some functionality will definitely break (e.g. push notifications) without GPS, unless they've incorporated unified push support.

Looking at your list of apps, I doubt any of them will have working push notifications without GPS. I can confirm that at least the proton suite doesn't support alternate push notification services.

I highly recommend using GPS if this is your first time in the Android/privacy/"de-googled" world. GrapheneOS treats GPS like any other app through their compatibility layer, giving you the same permission control over it as any other app. It's seriously awesome.

GrouchyGrape Thanks for this clarification, as yes, its my first time out with Android or de-googling. OK, so use Gog Play Servcs in the profile Ill have the alarm systems apps located in, yes?...well the question is narrowing down to Abode security being my last concern. I dont ever use any kind of geo-fencing with their app/system, but i do need the instant push notification for when the alarm is triggered, so I can view cameras and decide if its a false alarm or real breakin. Cuz if i dont call the cops off, then its another false alarm charge! Do you recommend any other settings to address to best my chances at getting what I need out of the app? And what particulars for the GPSrvcs itself in settings?

I don't use these apps. Should have been more specific that the Proton Suite apps and Organic Maps all work fine for me. I have notifications working for Proton apps nothing special about the permissions for Google Play.
