trythis3 let me clarify by saying I'm assuming you will be using Google Play Services (GPS). They are correct that some functionality will definitely break (e.g. push notifications) without GPS, unless they've incorporated unified push support.
Looking at your list of apps, I doubt any of them will have working push notifications without GPS. I can confirm that at least the proton suite doesn't support alternate push notification services.
I highly recommend using GPS if this is your first time in the Android/privacy/"de-googled" world. GrapheneOS treats GPS like any other app through their compatibility layer, giving you the same permission control over it as any other app. It's seriously awesome.
