I did step 1, but I cannot find the settings for step 2.
Wifi Calling did work with the same SIM card and my previous phone (oneplus 6)
Has anyone with a Pixel 7/7P got Wifi Calling working?
Beerman please take a moment to create an account over at GitHub and add a comment to the issue, the more people that comment the quicker it will get traction 👍
dcd-graphenediscuss I just did the same test and, after disabling mobile data .... was able to make a call as well as receive and answer a call.... Hmm, this means that WiFi is working
I'm on Verizon.
My assumption posting upthread about WiFi calling not working was the fact that my phone constantly misses and drops calls as well as "Voice over WiFi: Unavailable" under "IMS Status" in the testing menu screen. I guess, I need to look deeper into this ...
Would aforementioned test I did be a conclusive way to test WiFi calling or is there anything else I could test?
f13a-6c3a nothing else to test, if you can make standard telephony calls via wifi using the stock dialer app then wifi calling is active.
Different carriers have different thresholds for what causes wifi calling to 'kick in'. It can depend both on what your cellular strength is at as well as your WiFi strength/quality.
The proper way of testing Wifi Calling is to enable Airplane Mode, then only turn on Wifi and make a call. The dialer app should display a Wifi icon or text indicating that it is a Wifi call but this varies between carriers.
Turning off the cellular toggle from the Internet quick tile does NOT force a Wifi call and it doesn't prevent you from making standard cellular calls.
shorty Yeahh, you see, when I do that (Airplane mode on, then turn WiFi on) - I can NOT make a call nor I can receive one, I get "Turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call". Tried waiting for a while thinking maybe WiFi Calling need some time to "link up" - no go.
I feel like test during which you only turn off mobile data is false as it might, I suspect, keep the cellular connection going. The airplane on test is re-confirms what I was actually experiencing.
Zoltan these toggles are not meant to be interacted with by users. These toggles are changed remotely by your carrier when they provision them and send the info to your device.
Seek your carriers instructions on VoLTE and VoWiFi and follow them, if you do and still have issues return here for advice tagging me.

Yes, as long as you are logged into the mobile network, you can make calls via GSM/VoLTE. Internet access is not required for this.
You can only be sure that VoWifi works if you can make calls with airplane mode and Wifi turned on.
VoLTE works for me, but not VoWifi.
In the Test Menu (##4636##), I can see "Wifi Calls set up" is checked.
Zoltan Beerman have you both read and followed the directions as laid out here in our documentation:

Please do and report back, same for anyone else with issues and when doing so please mention the following:

I found the following when I looked that up:
2. What do I need to be able to activate Wi-Fi Calling on my phone?
To activate Wi-Fi Calling:
- First, your smartphone must be:
- Android – Either connected to the Verizon network or able to access the Internet through a Wi-Fi connection.
- iPhone – Connected to the Verizon network.
- Your smartphone must have HD Voice activated (most older Android™ devices list HD Voice under the Advanced Calling setting).
- HD Voice is activated by default for our current smartphones. If you have an older smartphone you may need to activate HD Voice manually.
- Your smartphone must be able to access the Internet through a Wi-Fi connection.
- You must accept the Wi-Fi Calling Terms & Conditions when they are displayed.
- You must confirm, update, or enter the US address when it displays (this is where you want emergency personnel to go if you call 911).
- iOS smartphones must be connected to the Verizon network in the US and can't turn on Wi-Fi Calling outside of the US.
Part of the full activation process might include sending the emergency address to the network and it's not activating until then. I can confirm that every other stock phone I have seen WiFi calling with Verizon has forced you to enter an address before it turns on, this was true on my old Pixel 3 and all the Samsung work phones I have used with the feature,
I don't really care about WiFi calling myself but I thought I could add another data point for this. I cannot confirm it worked on this phone before switching to GOS since I flashed GOS before inserting my SIM but others on Verizon have stated it worked on stock.
I just got it working on my 8P if you are still getting the "Turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call" message the culprit for me was private DNS. As soon as I turned private DNS off it works.
MetropleX voLTE and voWiFi are not provisioned by my carrier. I have called him then ill says Google phones are supported but my device (Google Pixel 7 Pro) isn't supported :S
With T-mobile on a Pixel 7 Pro, calling over Wifi works for me out of the box. When active, "T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling" scrolls across the upper right if I swipe the...control panel down (sorry I'm not sure the term for this) all the way down...the panel that gives you airplane mode, etc., and a button at the bottom for switching users.
