I have 20+ profiles on my pixel which is now about a year old. I use it for several different things, and there's been a lot of built up use of each of the users. Each user has several apps installed, i'm trying to reduce this across the phone as well as get rid of any unnecessary users. The phone is still experiencing a lot of lag. Restarting isn't helping. The users are not running in the background. That was a prior error I had but I fixed this. Is there any efficient way to remove lag and get the phone operating smoothly again? Do you recommend just clearing out tons of stuff on the phones users until the lag goes away, or is there a better way to do this?

Thanks

anonprivacypro Personally, if I were in your situation, I'd figure out how to group profiles better to suit my needs, back up data, then factory reset and start fresh.

There could be different reasons for the phone running slowly. It could be apps running in the background, maybe one or more are using more resources than necessary. Another possibility is developer options is enabled and some setting has been modified causing the phone to act differently.

Also, you're saying that the issue isn't that other user profiles aren't running in the background. How do you know that? Is it still sluggish after a restart?

I would say your first step is to look into

How much space is being used on your device? And what apps are on your owner profile is where I would start

      I am not a dev

I am experiencing the same thing on my pixel 7. I only have 3 profiles set up, and I always force stop apps in my other profiles after using them and end the session to go back to my main. My phone has a 3-5 second lag when switching or closing an app. It started acting like this suddenly last night. Rebooting the phone has not worked for me either. I have no solutions, just wanted to chime in and say you're not the only one.

other8026 yes it's still very sluggish after a reset. I'm going to deep dive today. I have the phone being run by a separate party so i don't have it physically in person. I think it's probably just long term over use. Alot of stuff on the phone has been built up over time. Stuff saved to the phone, tons of data from apps.

Is there a way to mass delete apps across all the profiles? that would be useful

only 3 profiles (including work profile) can run at the same time so i should not matter if you have 5 10 or 20 profiles

Update- I went through every single app and forced stopped all apps and did a restart. It is working normally again.
