The DisplayPort works! I plugged The 8 Pro into my USB-C hub, it detected the ethernet, keyboard, mouse, and display!

Graphics came through perfectly.

Does anyone know how to rotate the desktop so it is the right way round on a vertical screen? (Yes, I tried rotating the phone, but that doesn't seem to change the output orientation.)

    edent Thats cool.

You might have to rotate the desktop locally. If you run intel graphics then try ctr+alt+(arrow keys)
If not or using nvidia or the like then do it via the graphic card settings app or just try windows display settings (display orientation)

Sifer I think you misunderstand. I am using GrapheneOS - there's no Intel or NVidia chip. It's just whatever is inside the Pixel 8 Pro. There is no graphics card setting that I can see.

I noticed something weird. All my contacts (the initial alphabet) have different color on the default Contacts and Phone app. When I was on GrapheneOS previously (probably a couple of months ago), this was not the case. But after switching again from stock Pixel UI to GOS (version: 2024030900), I started noticing this. See the pictures below.

edent Sounds like you are not in desktop mode. Desktop mode must be manually enabled via Developer options.

GrapheneOS Thank you devs!!! My P6pro is working perfect and "turn off wi-fi automatically" is working again too.

I noticed something new, and I wonder if it's GrapheneOS or Home Assistant.

I'm no longer able to access my device controls tile without unlocking the phone. Is there anything with this release that would have caused that?

Thank you everyone who makes this awesome OS!

... I'm leaning towards not Home Assistant (at least intentionally) because access while unlocked is a documented feature. Including the ability to restrict certain switches.

I did try toggling the setting in Settings - Display - Lock screen however it's the same.

And... Just checked, It's the same issue with Google Home's control page too.

        edent Indeed I did :/
Digging more into pixel 8 support for a directly display, etc, is a heck of a good reason to upgrade devices.

When will the kernel be bumoed from 5.15.148 to as of writing latest 5.15.151?

I suspected it may need the monitor to report the alternative aspect ratio and you got me intrigued enough to have a play with the settings on the TV I'm using as a monitor and then, when that didnt get results, look about on the internet.
There is/was a way to do it with root. Could do a user debug build and see if it will work on Android 14 https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/117003/allow-rotate-into-portrait-mode-but-do-not-rotate-external-display

Alternatively get a monitor that is designed for horizontal use

Magic123 There is no newer GKI LTS release yet. You'd need to ask Greg KH. We could make our own but the whole point is meant to be that we don't need to do that anymore.

Did the new patch get rid of backup options? Before it would show backup location, recovery code, restore backup, etc. now it just shows backup (on or off), backup account (no idea where to make one) and auto restore :(
