Hi all,I am planning on buying a new laptop and having been browsing on taobao and other websites for a while. Reason being

I have plans to install Linux on my current gaming laptop that is too heavy to carry around and the battery life isnt that good for working outside, I also want to have it as my personal laptop so that's why i want to try Linux on it.
The reason I need a new windows laptop is because I need it for work and I do not want to use virtual machines ,translation layers, or even dual boot with Linux (don't want to deal with Hassels, I'm not too tech literate). And I want a portable laptop with preferably and and or lunar lake CPU that has good battery life, and also I want to have a dedicated work/personal space.

With that, I have noticed and heard that windows laptops sold in China may come with a Chinese version of windows. Originally I researched and heard that I would just need to do a clean install of windows . However I came across a reddit thread where a user claimed , quote
"It'll be backdoored by the government/manufacturer on a hardware level if you care about that. All consumer electronic laptops here are, that's why it's called 国行 and is approved to sell to the local market. Formatting the hard drive or installing a different OS can't remove this.I would recommend buying one on Amazon from another country and paying the 1000-2000rmb import taxes/fees."

"It's very similar hardware with some small differences modded for the local market, for example the motherboard numbers and drivers are different, yes."

There's a pretty good laptop discord with some Chinese members that you might want to ask in if you're skeptical and want someone to do your homework and provide part numbers etc. I'm on a phone right now and can't do this. You might also want to google things like IMEI for a better understanding of how microcontrollers on the cpu/mobo can control your entire system, regardless of what OS or BIOS settings you have."

May someone verify these statements or give some insights if you know anything about it, and how I should get about buying a windows laptop.
