Same.
I enabled Exploit Protection mode, which got my other banking apps to run, but it's not working for Cash App. And I don't see mention of it on the Banking Applications Compatibility page.
I can use it in the web browser in a pinch.

app works for me in the profile I have with google play services installed.
When I attempt to login to CashApp I am able to enter a phone number/email address, then receive an OTP via email/text as expected, then enter and have that OTP approved by CashApp, then enter my Account PIN and have it approved by CashApp. However, after all of this confirmation of my identity I receive the same message as OP "We couldn't verify this account belongs to you" or alternatively "This phone number cannot be used for CashApp" if I follow CashApp Support instructions and attempt to create a new account on the device after using another device to remove the phone number from my account.
This is not a life-ending incompatibility and it clearly is on the CashApp side of things at least to some extent, but it would be great to get a response as to what the specific incompatibility may be or is so that I can lobby for it to be resolved with whatever parties are actually at fault.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Saturday march 2nd 2024 my phone died due to water damage. I just got a replacement yesterday, same phone - pixel 7 pro with google play services installed.
Old phone worked fine with cash app - cant get into cash app with the new one. I can login with my laptop through a browser.. exact same symptoms. i get the SMS 2fa and email 2fa, but I get same error "we cant verify this account belongs to you" then eventually, "cash app doesn't support the use of emulators or other software programs"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled cash app and google play services - no success.
I use cash app frequently with the family, I desperately need this resolved.
rwub777 I had the same thing happen with other user accounts but not my Owner or sandboxed Google profile (where I am logged in)
I am experiencing the same. March 11th 2024 with graphene installed, Google Pixel 7 Pro
You can use cash.app in Vanadium - you must checkmark Desktop site in Vanadium for the web app to work on mobile, ironically. But it does work. You can still make payments, etc. I added a shortcut to the home screen.
I don't know when this changed, but when I got a new Pixel a few months ago and went to install my apps, I was running into all the same problems mentioned above. It worked fine on my old Pixel 5a.
I use cash app for bitcoin... The web app doesn't allow for bitcoin transactions. Too bad... Hope a fix will present it self
femundo Yeah, I use the cash deposit system on cash app. Only works on the app...Thankfully cash app works for me (user account with Google Play installed, signed in) for me but I am really nervous about losing it. Cash App is way to useful to lose for me personally
femundo how is the bitcoin transaction method on cashapp? is it pretty good?
nonewbsneedreply had the same problem
nonewbsneedreply I'm having the same issue. It doesn't matter whether I'm using my google services user or my normal owner user. It doesn't matter whether I'm using exploit protection or not. I've tried clearing cache, data, and re-installing. I still keep getting the error message:
we couldn't verify this account belongs to you

Hi! I'm having the same issue. Just documenting everything I've tried so far in case it helps others
Imma mess with it a little more, I'll reply if I figure out a way to make it work :/
Twiggumps God, I hate how cashapp is so dependent on the application itself it outright makes the service useless without it.
It seems to be outright random BTW, cash app works on two user profiles I have. One logged in, google play sandboxed, another no google play services and is the owner, and one that has no google play services and isn't the owner but for some reason it will fail to log me in on that one.
I was chatting with someone from GraphineOS support chat Matrix on Element and they directed me to this article about it. I think this is what's going on with CashApp and proly causing issues for some other apps on Graphene as well. Doesn't look like there is going to be any resolution anytime soon either, unfortunately... I just spent a lot of time setting up a new phone and getting some other apps to working that were having some issues. CashApp is important for my business and it was the last app I installed, only to find out it's not going to work and likely won't be working anytime soon. A lot of time wasted... Thanks Google....
Are you doing something special with this? When I try this solution I have to have paid someone in the app first to do it through the web app. So when you say "it works", that's really only if you never need to add a new person, which feels like a huge point to leave out?
dwv4jjv5b Wow I just checked and you're right. You can only send money to people you've already paid before. I never noticed.
It seems Cash App officially does not support Graphene OS.
I called Cash App support for help with the error "We couldn't verify that this account belongs to you." on Graphene OS. As a troubleshooting step they wanted me to create a new Cash App account, and that is when the app directly told me "This device or software isn't supported \n Cash app doesn't support the use of emulators or other software programs". And after consulting with their specialist, my support person said that I will have to use another device.
