Anyone here uses Session messenger with GOS? Wonderful little app but I'm having issues with notifications

thrik I don't know GrapheneOS doesn't make any changes to how direct boot works or change anything that should stop those apps starting. I know Orbot starts up fine for example when toggled on to start on boot.

Must be app specific or a missed setting.

Has anyone used Kiwix from F-Droid? The application says that it needs access to storage but that doesn't appear to be an option in the settings. It's possible that this is an issue with the app itself but then I would assume many other people would be complaining of if it was.

Is Netguard compatible with graphene? When I enable it, all apps are kicked offline. The reason I am trying to use it is graphene doesn't seem to have a toggle for mobile data vs wifi network access and is all or none.

ieVai2 yes, NetGuard is compatible with GrapheneOS.

Hymix I also have Pixel 4a and am in Japan. I was just looking into using LINE. It looks like I will have install the Google services, which is a real bummer. Did you ever find a fix to this problem you posted about?

Hymix I wonder if this could have to do with Settings. For example, when you start a new user Profile there will be some default Settings that it's possible you had previously modified in the Owner profile.

Davis Have you been running SingPass on GrapheneOS and has it been working for you? I’m looking at picking up a Pixel for GrapheneOS too.

Proton main APK from proton website would not install. I turned on USB debugging and it installed. Did I do it wrong?

Landed8507 are you using Signal with any sandboxed Google Play Services at all, are you using anything that alters your network behaviour beyond stock? I can't replicate, can you try installing just Signal in another user profile and trying it there to try whittle down if this is a configuration issue?

This thread is too broad and needs to be split up.

          Hulk unstickied the discussion .

I successfully installed SingPass from the Play Store on GrapheneOS. Everything seems to work, but I can't confirm that all functionalities do because I haven't exhaustively explored them. The profile services (like documents, including viewing vaccination certificates and corresponding QR codes) all appear to work perfectly. IIRC there was some weird message the very first time I opened the Singpass app (something about my phone running a custom OS, don't fully remember what it said cuz it was weeks ago), but it didn't stop me from using the App; it was just a one-time popup.

meijin3 I'm finding Kiwix does the same on my 6a. I'm off to check Reddit, if I find something I'll let you know.

Snapchat :: installed from Aurora Store
Comfirm, works without GSF on GOS,
though you need to open the app to check for new snaps, no notification. Works for me.

Skoove :: (learn instrument app) installed from Aurora
Confirm, works without GSF on GOS, requires modification of hardening and exploit protection.
Thank you GOS team for giving us these settings!

Just wanted to update this thread in regards to the banking apps project.

Banking apps project is now located at:
              https://privsec.dev/banking

The issue form template has been updated today to include Pixel 7 series as well as our per-app exploit protection compatibility mode option.

I've created a post on some common solutions that may resolve some banking apps compatibility issues:
