GrapheneOS Releases are generally available immediately to devices set to use the Alpha channel. If the release works well for Alpha users, it is likely to be released in a day or two for devices set to use the Beta channel; if that goes well it will likely be released to the Stable channel soon after. You can see which channel your device is set to use via "Settings", "System", "System update".
Note that downgrade protection means that if you switch channels to try out a new release you won't be able to switch back to the older GrapheneOS if you don't like the release you got via a faster channel. Neither switching release channels nor sideloading an older OTA image will work, so the earlier-access channels may be best for second devices or adventurous individuals.
Please note that I do not speak for the GrapheneOS project.
Just got it, on a Pixel 5.
This version seems quite buggy for me. The screen is frequently tearing and flashing. The screen appears in a condensed version at the bottom of the screen, too.
Edit:
Pixel 6
Is there a way for me to test if this is a hardware issue without resetting the device? Restarting the phone seems to have at least temporarily cleared the buggy screen behavior.
Pixel 6a.
'Sandboxed Google Play crashed'
Following the update, the crash message appears after every restart and once so far when the phone was idle overnight.
I'll be grateful for any help with this.

This is a crash we tried to address with GmsCompatConfig v81 but it doesn't seem to have resolved it. It will be looked into further.
Thanks for reporting it!
Thank you for the reply.
Are there any consequences to this crash? As far as I can see, everything appears to be working,
guser39 my screen is doing weird stuff too. Like a blob when the page is mostly dark. It doesn't seem so noticeable on bright pages.
I have app crashes on a Pixel 6 and 7 Pro. If it is helping I can post debug information, just let me know.
The crashes occur by the way on apps that are not running, really weird...
Both phones were still running at GmsCompatConfig 81, I now updated to 82.
billbadger The crash mentioned here should now be fixed with GmsCompatConfig v82. If not, please let us know.
Still having the issue on a P6P where when the AOD is enabled and goes into "standby mode" (i.e. when you lock the device and wait about 5 seconds, you see the screen flicker for a second and the AOD display goes into what I assume is 10Hz mode), the fingerprint unlock fails 100% of the time when the device is in this state.
It will pop a message saying "Press firmly on the sensor", followed by "fingerprint not recognized". Subsequent unlock attempts after this "failure" work 100% of the time.
I have tried re-enrolling fingerprints (remove all + re-add), messing with various security mechanisms (PIN scramble, auto reboot, etc), nothing seems to fix it.
Ideal behavior is the device will register the fingerprint normally, even when in lower refresh rate standby state. It used to work this way on stock OS, and on previous GrapheneOS versions based off Android 13. It was one of the latter A13 updates that caused this to start happening (for me at least), and has proceeded into A14 versions.
The 82 update does indeed appear to have cured the problem.
Thanks for all the work.
I still have apps crashing after v82, even the default launcher.
But after updating to v82, it strangely only occurs after a power cycle of the phone.
Thx and sure, this is just one crash, I have these crashes on multple apps on boths phones:

This one is strange, but it has been mentioned in a couple other places. Maybe the devs will have a solution.
First, there's a post here on the forum: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/8632-increase-in-app-crashes
Second, there's an open issue in the OS issue tracker: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/2648
Your crash report as well as the two linked above have the same app nl.rabomobiel
, which is Rabobank? If you disable the app temporarily, do the crashes stop occurring?
It is a Dutch bank app, the buildin launcher from GOS also gives an error, too bad this one doesn't provide a debug output. On the other phone apps like Tidal are also crashing. What I just don't get is, besides the launcher of course, the other apps are not running when the crash occurs....
I just disabled the Rabobank app, rebooted the phone and no crashes! Then enabled it again and rebooted also no crash.... So nice to have hard to reproduce issues :P
It actually just crashed again... it took a little more time, but again it crashed without it running...
