Any chance GrapheneOS could enable display port alt mode? It appears to be working for rooted Pixel 8's

setprop persist.vendor.usb.displayport.enabled 1
The first grapheneos with working desktop mode would be nice.
Pixel 8 Pro on the experimental release here, no issues found so far. Works perfectly for me.
Has anyone installed Google camera and Google photos ? Do they have the same features as stock ?
Can confirm Pixel 8 Pro on experimental release from yesterday working fine so far (including fingerprint unlock), still setting everything up and will update if something doesn't work well.
@L8437 As for the Google features, you might want to ask about a specific feature, otherwise it's hard to give a good answer. Taking photos and videos works well, and I can change many settings about quality and so on. I don't have network permissions on either app.
L8437 And if you additionally install Google Photos, you can also use the after effects (magic eraser etc...). Just give it network permission for few minutes for some features to activate and then revoke it again if you need.
maximus87 Does audio eraser and best face work too?
matchboxbananasynergy It would be helpful if you dated your updates.

Can Google Photos work alongside FOSS galleries like Aves, which also offer some excellent features not found in Google Photos? i.e. can you access photos from either gallery?
During the period that Google Photos is enabled does it scan and upload any metadata on existing photos to Google?
matchboxbananasynergy . They're just releases that are not yet released to the alpha channel due to more testing being needed before the team is confident to put it there.
Apple Testflght lets users try unreleased versions of apps but does not lock them in. They can always revert back.
If there is a phone-stopping usability defect in the Pixel 8 GrapheneOS, is is reasonably easy to restore stock Google (until the GrapheneOS software defect is corrected)?

I've used my P8P for a few hours now: calls, music, bluetooth with car, headphones, etc. No issues at all, and battery looks solid.
I must say it feels very tempting to use the experimental version on my daily driver with all those comments about a great experience, but I won't.
Iām getting quite tempted myself, hoping non experimental may be out within 24-48 hours given how positive people are reacting to the experimental

I installed Exp.Version 2 of GOS on my P8P, then spent all day installing EVERY app I use looking for bugs... didn't find any... seems very stable to me :) I will do more testing today. It feels that solid I have moved my SIM over from P7P to this P8P... it's now my daily driver :)
NOTE: I don't use profiles, so no testing there.
VAULT Im using exp version 2, on my pix 8 pro. I've ported over my esim now. I'm using profiles too, no real issues.
Only thing that MAY be a bit of a bug is sometimes when I'm switching profiles, fingerprint might want me to use pin instead. But it's only done it a few times so it's not consistent
