What's happening for me is if I open the second profile and leave it running while I use the owner profile, all is good. But if I go back to the second profile more than once and go back to the owner profile, it starts happening again. In order to get it working again I have to restart the phone. So any more than a couple visits to the second profile I need to reboot the phone, very annoying, but better than the before.

mortuary_jab yes I've noticed it now happening on both profiles, not just owner like before. However it only happens for me after a couple of visits to the second profile. At least I can leave it running in the background, but annoying to have to reboot after going back once or twice.

muhomorr i sent a bug report to muhomorr's matrix and they said the issue is not being actively addressed as it cannot be replicated :(

I'm considering a factory reset, cos this is a major issue for me and has somehow only gotten worse. I didn't want to have to use a separate phone for my necessary Google/Meta stuff, but looks like I'll be forced to

I have the exact same issue, using two profiles and both get extremely slow and laggy. the update didn't fix anything on my phone.

Same serious lags still occur on p7. Dev, please give advice how to help you reproducing this issue. Thanks.

Switched gestures to 3 button navigation mode. This actually does not work around the lags. Still happen. Home button sometimes takes 10++ secs to work.

P7pro here, regularly using 3 profiles, zero issues. I tried swapping back and forth with open apps, videos playing, etc and it's behaving exactly as before, seamlessly.

GUUUYS I think I found the problem: The pin scramble feature
When I turned it off and restarted it stopped lagging and also fingerprint is working everytime! It is a bummer that we cannot use the scramble feature which I love...but at least we get a seamless experience!!!
Please report if this helped you :)

Okay. As there are people without this issue outside there I tried to give my scenario:
      Owner profile without Google
2 profiles with Google but different accounts.
All profiles with Gboard. Around 90gig used, 70 in owner profile.

Now we can actually report to the devs on how to recreate the bug!
      :))))))

      n0body

I am not using pin scramble. BUT I used it half a year ago for some time. And I have the lags..

Now I turned it back on and I have no lags so idk what is happenning

I can confirm that it must have to do with the possible broken setting of pin scramble in the other thread.

After switching all options of in security/pin and reboot, the lag problem is gone.

I enabled scramble PIN layout, rebooted and have been trying swiching profiles, keeping them awake in the background and I'm experiencing no lags at all.

Folks, we shouldn't assume this has anything to do with the scramble PIN layout feature. I enabled that just once for like 30 seconds long before the A14 upgrade, never used it again, and still have this issue. Also, if you reboot the phone the problem goes away on its own (for a while, then it comes back). This was already noted in this very thread, so again, nothing to do with the scramble PIN layout feature.

What makes it reproducible for me (i.e. it happens every single time):

      1. Turn on the phone.
      2. Switch to a secondary profile.
      3. Use the secondary profile for a long period of time (on the order of hours but maybe less, I haven't timed it).
      4. Switch back to the owner's profile.

Then the very first thing you notice is the lock screen's closing lagging after you enter the owner's profile PIN and hit enter. The second thing you notice is apps' closing lagging.

FYI I opened an issue on Github: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/2558.
