Anyone having issues logging in to Aurora Store since the Android 13 update? I've asked on other forums but others have said they have no issues at the moment.

Qwerty Otherwise you have the real play store that you can easily install

Qwerty Not specific to Android 13 but there are sporadic server-side issues with Aurora Store when Google makes changes on its back-end. There have been at least a couple such events in recent weeks that prevent the app from being used.

I just took the plunge and installed sandboxed play services. Aurora has been way too unreliable as of late.

Qwerty I remember someone saying it only makes people feel warm and fuzzy because it isn't Play Store. Either way you're using some type of account with it. And that's to say nothing of adding an extra party to the mix for no good reason.

I just installed the latest nightly from their site, and it's working on my Pixel 4a.

Kryptos It just means you're using some shared account you don't control. Personally I struggle to justify using something like Aurora with its many issues over Play Store running as a regular sandboxed app. I'm signed in with a dummy account just like the one Aurora uses while being connected through a VPN.

I'm not sure what you meant here. The official recommendation is to use Play Store in profiles where sandboxed Play services are installed.

I use 5 apps from the Playstore from Aurora on my secondary profile (that won't work on my main profile because I don't have anything Google related). I would need a gmail account, through a VPN, and the chance it starts asking for a mobile phone for validation. What's the gain of using the playstore in that scenario (against Aurora)?

I don't criticize anything, just trying to understand your perspective to learn.

alex_herrero I have a similar setup to yours with the exception that I use Play Store instead of Aurora on my secondary profile just because I couldn't find any reasons not to.

You don't need a phone number to create an account in most cases but should they insist, I had luck just switching servers and being allowed to create an account without providing a phone number. At least that's how it worked from within the Play Store app on the device. If you are unbothered by shared Aurora accounts you could just do nothing.
