Nuttso can you elaborate this answer? please.
Also, the battery consumption is due to Signal or Molly? Thanks

cdflasdkesalkjfkdfkjsdajfd there is room to improve molly websocket. It's possible that signal is currently working to replace the unidentified ws with a new socket using the Noise protocol. We are interested in improving

Make notes on userprofile names has been possible in Molly for some time. ;-)
It hasnt been specifically mentioned, so in order to be told im wrong, or prehaps shed some light for someone. The database locking usage is similar to Gos auto reboot, as in its nice to know that if your phone is removed from your person that it will return to a more secure state automatically, for me setting the timer to 2hrs works well, i use the phone during the day for work so the first time a 2hr block of time with me not unlocking the phone occurs is when im home having tea or sleeping when im not interested in being notified of calls/messages.... and of course if i am parted with my phone then 2hrs is not a huge window.

I know you can make notes on your own profile. I meant changing profile names on your contacts and also make notes too which now Signal have that feature with version 7.2.4. I hoped Molly would update too. They say they update Molly every two weeks but its been 3 weeks now since last update.
Im new to using grapheneos and im trying to receive push notifications on my owner profile. I just installed Molly FOSS and the notifications are hit or miss. Should I install the other release of Molly or can anyone give me some guidance to receive notifications?
Hello @Nuttso I just recently migrated over from Signal to Molly-UP, for better battery life and extra security features. I have a question though, in the GitHub repo is states:
Contact deletion - Allows you to delete contacts and stop sharing your profile
However, I remember seeing this option also within the official Signal client, if I'm not mistaken. Navigating to Pencil Icon > Long tap on a contact name > Remove
-- Is there any difference, then, between this flow and the "Contact Deletion" feature within Molly?
My apologies in advance if this is a silly (read: obvious) question. But I was just wondering. Thank you for your hard work!

Another user wrote a thought provoking post about 2 aspects of using vanilla Signal.
https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/15100-what-is-the-best-messenger-today/35
To attempt to paraphrase briefly, their concerns are:
- Lack of the ability to toggle on/off compression and the stripping metadata from photos
- Lack of easy backup portability in vanilla Signal (portability as in, you can't easily view the contents of a backup using any other tool besides Signal or Signal forks)
Curious to know if Molly does anything differently in these two regards?
Is it really worth to use Molly even if we use GrapheneOS?
I don't really remember what it is but some GrapheneOS features seems like to remove the need of some Molly features (RAM shredding, ...?) 🤔 can you help me with this ?
