Better internet browser: Duckduckgo or Vanadium with duckduckgo set as default browser in Vanadium?

I'm not sure a poll is the best way to determine the better browser. Assuming by better you mean more secure, I would refer to security experts who have a high level of understanding of these matters. From what I have read, they seem to recommend Chromium based browsers, and Vanadium for GrapheneOS.

According to this post, DuckDuckgo app isn't really its own browser but uses the system WebView which lacks the ability to isolate and sandbox between sites like Vanadium. The GrapheneOS website says more about WebView here:

WebView-based browsers use the hardened Vanadium rendering engine, but they can't offer as much privacy and control due to being limited to the capabilities supported by the WebView widget

Developer-Dude I am not any type of security expert, but all I have read puts Vanadium leaps and bounds over all other browsers from a security standpoint. That being said, I occasionally do use Brave browser because Vanadium will not work with the USPS tracking page, for whatever reason.

I trust GOS when they say Vanadium is the most secure ow the two. I hate the ai stuff in duck, but I do use it exclusively for youtube without ads.

Is there a source for GOS' explanation on browsers? DuckDuckGo seems to be the most widely used for privacy, which also aids in minimizing the possibility of accurate fingerprinting. And Brave is more security focused while including privacy features I don't see in Vanadium.

Anyone else have a more in-depth understanding?

Mike Kuketz did a thorough test of the duckduckgo browser back in 2021. A little old, but the results probably still stand.
tldr: He doesn't consider it a private browser, because it constantly tracks the user, sending data to improving.duckduckgo.com They say the data is anonymous, but who knows, it's still tracking.
The other big criticism is that it loads a lists of URLs on which the tracking protection is completely disabled and it doesn't tell the user in any way about it.
In my words: If you completely trust duckduckgo and don't mind to get tracked on certain websites, go for it. I myself would never use this browser!
