[deleted] maybe. I read somewhere 5G is fragmented and most times needs custom configs for it to work. Or that rather than Google risking non-working 5G it resorted to a 5G whitelisting approach. Hearsay. Might be wrong.

_MatriX_ Sadly doesn't work, wish it did other OS & ROMs support it but not Graphene yet... Would love it if they allowed 5G in unsupported countries have been waiting for so long... Its the only downside to Graphene

88dotorg Yes that's correct as other OS and ROMs without root have 5G working in unsupported countries. Graphene could support it if they wanted to, they have said so before on twitter.

Please. With Grapheneos possible to activate 5G in non supported country or no?

arushanyan as of right now, I don't believe 5G will work in countries where Pixels aren't sold. Based on what others have said here, it sounds like 4G should work for most carriers even if 5G doesn't.

other8026 in republic of georgia, 5g got launched, default pixels arent supported by any carries due to googles licensing issue, users rooted phones and modified modem files, and it enabled 5G, i wanna have 5G but also graphene without weakening my Security by unlocking bootloader and rooting, is there possiblity graphene can issue new modem drivers which whitelists Georgia?

[deleted] no it's not. This came with Android 15. I have 5G enabled in at least 3 countries that I could not have 5G by the love of god in the past. This changed with Android 15 update.

Why is 5G so important? 4G is much more power efficient anyway
