I bought an open line Pixel 7 Pro in the US. Unfortunately, it doesn't support 5G in my country.
Using Graphine OS, will the 5G band be activated nor supported?
I've check my local carrier and it's supporting the 5G bands of Pixel 7 Pro.

In short, if it's included in AOSP, it's included in GrapheneOS.
I can't know for sure, but I'd bet that if a Pixel 7 Pro running stock works on your carrier, it would work running GrapheneOS.
if for some reason it doesn't work, you can always go back to stock Android, so it doesn't hurt to try!
gcauilan Using Graphine OS, will the 5G band be activated nor supported?
No. It is not up to a carrier, this is a Google decision not to include some features in countries, where there is no official Google support. In some countries in Europe you can buy Pixel phones from resellers, but it won't give you 5G, even though the phone supports it and your carrier supports it on different phones.
Sadly, no.
gcauilan Pixel 7 Pro with stock OS works fine with my carrier, except for the 5G band.
Oh I thought that what you said earlier meant that it worked with 5G. 314random is correct, it's about Google supporting other networks, not the other way around.
Google's website indicates that other unsupported networks may work, but there's no guarantees.
Unlisted carriers’ 5G networks may or may not work with Pixel phones.
Pixel phones work with all major carriers. But not all Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 5a (5G), Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) phones work on all 5G networks. Check with your carrier to make sure your phone works on its 5G network.
Hopefully what your carrier said is correct about their 5G working with Pixels!
I live in an "unsupported country". I did manually check the model number of my Pixel 7 pro 5g individual bands which are all used by our local carriers but still no 5g. I'm struggling to understand why 5g shouldn't work? Would be great if grapheneOS could enable it?
Hi! Pixel 6a user here. In Portugal Pixels 6a started supporting 5G with GrapheneOS at the same time (well, with a few weeks delay) when the official stock did (judging by other users reports).
EDIT: more or less around May/2023
th33machin3 I don't think this has anything to do with GOS. The issue is with the carrier.
[deleted] maybe. I read somewhere 5G is fragmented and most times needs custom configs for it to work. Or that rather than Google risking non-working 5G it resorted to a 5G whitelisting approach. Hearsay. Might be wrong.
Did anyone try Graphene OS and get 5G for unsupported devices?
_MatriX_ Sadly doesn't work, wish it did other OS & ROMs support it but not Graphene yet... Would love it if they allowed 5G in unsupported countries have been waiting for so long... Its the only downside to Graphene
Are you sure? That means the problem of 5G not working is because of GrapheOS, then some of earlier answers were wrong?
88dotorg Yes that's correct as other OS and ROMs without root have 5G working in unsupported countries. Graphene could support it if they wanted to, they have said so before on twitter.
Please. With Grapheneos possible to activate 5G in non supported country or no?
arushanyan as of right now, I don't believe 5G will work in countries where Pixels aren't sold. Based on what others have said here, it sounds like 4G should work for most carriers even if 5G doesn't.
other8026 thanks
other8026 in republic of georgia, 5g got launched, default pixels arent supported by any carries due to googles licensing issue, users rooted phones and modified modem files, and it enabled 5G, i wanna have 5G but also graphene without weakening my Security by unlocking bootloader and rooting, is there possiblity graphene can issue new modem drivers which whitelists Georgia?
