Hi,

I bought a USB key and I am trying to connect it to my phone. However when I plug it in nothing happens.

Are there any settings regarding USB storage I am not aware of? The key is compatible with Android.

Thank you.

You mean a thingie like Yubikey??? For FIDO2 goodness?? You need Play Services for now...

I selected "allow new USB peripherals when unlocked" and "use USB connection for file transfer", usb debug mode is activated, however "usb controled by" is not defined in my settings.

evalda Can I format it from the phone? If not I have to wait this evening for access to my Linux computer 😃

Arnauld The phone can format USB sticks. It should tell you that the USB device is not supported and offer you to format it. If that doesn't work, something else is wrong

alex So something else is wrong as nothing happens when I plug in the key. It is a Sandisk USB-c key...

Arnauld You should probably deactivate USB debug mode (and developer options altogether) as they're not needed for using a USB storage device

Hum, sorry for that. It appears that I simply didn't plug it in enough but only 90% ... 🙃 Thank you for having taken time trying to help me...
