[deleted] That's EXACTLY what I'm saying.
I don't remember where I read it, but in this forum or another, it clearly stated that Messages was the ONLY app that could read SMS in user profiles. To test that, I did the following:
Test 1 - QKSMS in Both Profiles
- I disabled Messages in the Owner profile after installing and setting QKSMS as the default SMS app, and disabled any other SMS app.
- In the user profile, I installed QKSMS, set it as the default SMS app, and then disabled Messages and any other SMS app.
Results: I received NO texts in the User profile, but the Owner profile had texts in QKSMS.
Test 2 - QKSMS in Both Profiles; Messages enabled in the Owner (Admin) profile
- After installing QKSMS, I set it as the default SMS app, left other SMS apps enabled, including Messages.
- In the user profile, I installed QKSMS, set it as the default SMS app, and then disabled Messages and any other SMS app.
Results: I received NO texts in the User profile, but the Owner profile had texts in QKSMS.
Test 3 - Messages in the Owner (Admin) Profile; QKSMS in the User Profile
- In the Owner (Admin) profile, I ensured Messages was the default SMS application and disabled all other SMS apps.
- In the user profile, I installed QKSMS, set it as the default SMS app, and then disabled Messages and all other SMS apps.
Results: I received NO texts in the User profile, but the Owner profile had texts in the Messages app.
Test 4 - Messages in Both Profiles
- In the Owner (Admin) profile, I ensured Messages was the default SMS application and disabled all other SMS apps.
- In the user profile, I ensured Messages was the default SMS application and disabled all other SMS apps.
Results: I received texts in the User profile, but they came as standard Notifications, not as an SMS Text notification; the Owner profile had texts in the Messages app, too.
