Also good to point out that asks for passcode != BFU. There should be some text saying “Touch ID requires your passcode when iPhone restarts.” Or something to the effect.

phone-company A bag is not enough for radio waves, the thickness of your cage must be 3cm. Take your iPhone, travel 30km by car and tell us if it restarts
Guillaume
A bag is enough, test some you will see they work.
If you are uncertain which Faraday bag works, go into your local supermarket, put a premium steak in the bag, and try to walk out with it. If you get a free dinner then you know what works. But if your next bunk mate is Harry the Hatchet Murderer, then strike that bag
NetRunner88 Yeah, the skin depth in metal at cell frequencies is tiny, no need for 3cm shielding. It is much more about having proper RF tight seals on the container. Source: https://www.mattblaze.org/blog/faraday/
72 hours to reboot, that's an eternity...
My GrapheneOS 6a is set at 2 hours.
I have a 14 digit passcode and no fingerprint access. A rebooted phone from AFU to BFU makes no difference access wise to me.
For me 4 hours works perfect
Eight hours works for me.
Guillaume That's not true. iOS uses a 72 hour timer after the device is locked. That's the initial default auto-reboot timer we implemented before moving to 18 hours as the default. You do not need to set anything up on GrapheneOS.
Guillaume No, they use a 72 hour timer. It has nothing to do with location. We used 72 hours before we moved to the default of 18 hours.
Guillaume You're incorrect. You're confusing other features with a reboot. Asking for your PIN does not imply it rebooted.
Guillaume That is not how it works.
Guillaume No.
GrapheneOS Indeed I was wrong, sorry for the mistake.
It has been tested and proven that iPhones running iOS 18 or later automatically reboot after 72 hours of being locked. Cellural/Wifi/Bluetooth/Any connectivity doesn't affect it at all. I think this is a cool feature, and finally Apple did something good.
