lovefromisrael I think it depends on how the alert was sent out. If it was a normal wireless emergency alert, GrapheneOS should behave the same as other Android phones. Have you disabled presidential alerts (in the owner profile) under Settings > Safety & emergency > Wireless emergency alerts
?
You may even find the one you missed in the history?
no, it's all on
lovefromisrael Do you see the alert in the history? And the others who were around you, do you know if they also have Android phones, and do the emergency alerts show up in the history?
As far as I know, GrapheneOS has only made small changes to how this works. You can see the history here. The last two are made by a member of GrapheneOS, the rest are from upstream AOSP. They only added the ability to toggle off certain alerts. So, unless I'm mistaken, I'd expect if any phones running Android receive emergency messages, phones running GrapheneOS should be no different.
Cell Broadcast requries Cell(ular Network). So if Airplane mode is enabled, you do not recive them. WiFi Calling does not get them (for me).
how did the other people receive the alerts? in my current country of residence the alerts are sent by text message to all the number of national operators.
do you perhaps have a foreign sim?
