introvertgeek I have the same issue after the latest OS update. I ended up disabling DDG until the issue is solved hopefully.

ErnestThornhill I agree it certainly doesn't seem like a general issue with [all] VPNs in the latest GrapheneOS, but I'm also not entirely ruling out that the issue lies with GrapheneOS, and not DDG. So I'm posting to DDG as well.

That said, I'm mostly concerned about the tracking protection the DDG browser/VPN provides, not "traditional VPN" per se. So I haven't tried any other VPN service on this GrapheneOS release. Blocking app trackers is my main concern, as I want to use this phone as my daily driver, and also need to use applications from Play.

If that makes sense :)

It is likely due to changes in the latest release. A new release will revert these changes. We unfortunately didn't receive reports of the issues during alpha/beta testing.

Does anyone else have issues with 5G connectivity? I used to get 5G connectivity before, but even if I force NR-only, I either only see LTE or I get no connectivity.

    Just to add some experience:

For me KDE Connect works well with KDE Connect 1.3.2 on GOS and Fedora Kinoite 40 (KDE Plasma 6.1.4, kde-connect-24.08).

    GrapheneOS

Yes. Proton VPN, always on & kill-switch. Didn't notice any issues with the VPN tho, only with KDE Connect.

Mobile network connectivity on Pixel 5a 5G (yes I know it's EOL with extended support only) is not functioning after this update installed. I have 2-3 minutes of connection with LTE networks followed by "emergency calls only" despite being in an area with very strong LTE signal. Toggling Airplane Mode or swapping between LTE and 5G restores connection for another 2-3 minutes but it is not a permanent fix.

I have reset network settings several times and rebooted after each configuration change without restoring normal functionality. I will move to a new phone before the end of the year but I cannot do so right now.

I also have a 5a and the mobile network is unavailable. I've tried various things like switching back to LTE only. Nothing works so far (for more than a couple of minutes anyway). This happened immediately after this update was applied.

other8026 Pending the next release, can I roll back to the previous release (2024090400) to have a functional phone until the next version fixes the issue?

Can confirm that phone/text messaging abilities get shot yesterday/this morning after the recent update on 5 and 5a's. I've installed grapheneOS on 100's of phones over the past 2 years (absolutely love you guys and the work you do) and it seems this is now a chronic issue with customers emailing me all morning. Have a few 6, 6a, 7 pro devices that work just fine after the update, but the 5's seem to be an issue... as outlined. Spent nearly 2 hours with carrier technical support and after trying everything imaginable, finally re-flashed the OS, and the same issue happens. Have pulled the SIM card to a different device and it works fine in other devices. So this appears isolated to the device itself and happened right after the update.

MARK37 Also pulled other functioning SIMs into the Pixel 5 and the SIM will not work on the 5.

MARK37 yes, many people with 5th generation Pixels are experiencing issues, issues that weren't caught during testing. A new release to undo the related changes is coming soon.
