No issues , running fine so far.
Working fine for me. Pixel 5
Working well for me on Pixel 9 Pro Fold--no errors or crashes!
Everything is running perfectly fine on my Pixel 9 Pro XL. 👍
I'm on a Pixel 7a, after update this morning DuckduckGO VPN/App Tracker stopped working. DDG is my daily driver because of the tracking protection.
I can access web just fine on DDG but the App Tracking Protection keeps switching off, and I see the "Android disabled App Tracking Protection" in the DDG browser. Re-enable doesn't work, App Tracking Protection goes back to disabled. Removing and re-adding DDG VPN doesn't seem to make a difference. Rebooting doesn't seem to make any difference either. Vanadium only works if I disable DDG VPN in settings completely.
Pixel 7a
GrapheneOS update (2024091700)
DDG/DDG VPN version 5.213.0
Anyone know how can I get this going again?
Did this update break KDE Connect for anyone else?
Immediate crash, cannot even open it. Worked fine on all previous versions. Always-on VPN is enabled.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to create service
org.kde.kdeconnect.BackgroundService: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.net.SocketException: setsockopt failed: EPERM (Operation not permitted)
introvertgeek After a while, I get the "Disconnected from always-on VPN" notification.
introvertgeek PersonalDNSfilter works with its own VPN.
So it is not a fundamental problem and must be due to DDG
introvertgeek I can reproduce this, with the same GOS and DDG app versions but on a Pixel 8.
However, it seems to not disconnect from the VPN if "Block connections without VPN" is enabled. The DDG app recommends leaving that disabled, but I don't know why they recommend that.
When the DDG VPN is on, Vanadium shows "This site is not secure" when entering a URL. Pressing Continue doesn't load sites, however.
Edit: could still be an app problem. I might test on stock PixelOS later.
thanks for the new update!
unfortunately it broke plexamp on pixel 8 (no google play installed). here is the log:

i assume it is something on plexamp's side, if you tell me what i can raise an issue with the developers. thanks!
fid02 I've tried to enable "Block connections without VPN" (I've had it set to off by default), but it doesn't make a difference, unfortunately. DDG VPN is fine on my Samsung work phone (Android 14, kernel 5.4.242-28575149 (build: 31. July))
When the DDG VPN is on, Vanadium shows "This site is not secure" when entering a URL. Pressing Continue doesn't load sites, however.
I'm seeing this too, but not before the latest update, as far as I remember...
AlphaElwedritsch I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Is there something I can do to check/troubleshoot or find more info about what could be causing this?
only that it does not have any fundamental problems with this type of VPN. after the update
introvertgeek I have the same issue after the latest OS update. I ended up disabling DDG until the issue is solved hopefully.
@introvertgeek @maximus87 I use Proton VPN and have not encountered any issues using it after the update like you have with DuckDuckGo's VPN. I believe it's an issue on DuckDuckGo's end and suggest that you contact them.
ErnestThornhill I agree it certainly doesn't seem like a general issue with [all] VPNs in the latest GrapheneOS, but I'm also not entirely ruling out that the issue lies with GrapheneOS, and not DDG. So I'm posting to DDG as well.
That said, I'm mostly concerned about the tracking protection the DDG browser/VPN provides, not "traditional VPN" per se. So I haven't tried any other VPN service on this GrapheneOS release. Blocking app trackers is my main concern, as I want to use this phone as my daily driver, and also need to use applications from Play.
If that makes sense :)
