I have now reloaded Google android "public use" to slot A now for second time today. From review of the Google process it seems that the GOS process is not prompting me to reselect my device to continue on with the flash process. I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Ooops Just curious...when flashing, is the Tablet in the dock, or solo? If you haven't tried solo yet, can you try that?

I just tried again and now notice that during both the Google flash and then the GOS flash attempt the prompt window that pops up now lists two different Pixels, Pixel () 0 and Pixel () 1. I also noticed that I regain slot A after Google flash but during the GOS flash attempt, at the point it just stops, it changes to slot B... I have no idea what that means but believe I should be work on one slot at a time... But not knowing anything, I could be wrong.

Ooops I would not be surprised if the GrapheneOS installer flashed both slots. Also, the Google flasher might see that only one slot was flashed by GrapheneOS and fix only one.

How long does the Google flasher take to run versus the GrapheneOS installer? Maybe something is turning on power limiting or CPU limiting after a while? When flashing, how many apps are open, and how many browser tabs?

It appears hung up on its first reboot into fast boot mode at which time it is at Boot slot: b after starting in Boot slot: a.

          Help

de0u google takes less than 15 min, but during process prompt screens continue to pop up and I select my device and the process continues. In GOS, after first reboot it hangs. I see no progress bar, it merely states "restarting device" and I wonder if software is losing, so I wait..

No other apps open. Four tabs on vanadium open.

@Ooops @DeletedUser124 plenty of people have flashed GrapheneOS on their tablets, so it's not an issue with the web installer. 99 times out of 100, the issue is with one of the following: usb cable, computer port, the person doing the flashing is touching or moving either the computer or the device being flashed.

You can try multiple times. It's very hard to brick a Pixel device. If flashing doesn't work, try a different port, try a different device to flash from, or try a different cable.

I'm trying to flash from GOS tablet to pixel 8.

Am I missing a setting on the tablet?

Could I have the USB connection not set for data transfer? Could that be it?

It hangs in the same place every time. I download release, I then press flash, it flashes then reboots back into fastboot I stead of bootloader. It never enters user environment. What the hell am I doing wrong? I would agree that there is a cable issue if it hung in different steps during attempts, but it is always the same spot. I am missing something simple, what?

DeletedUser124 I had the battery symbol on the 8 but as directed, just held the power button for over 30 seconds and it came back to life. That was on the initial attempt. Since then I have never completed a flash of GOS onto the 8. It just hangs after an initial reboot and never goes to bootloader or user environment.

                Ooops
Would suggest to try a different usb cable if youve not already tried that.

Once the update is downloaded shouldnt have to wait any longer than 20 mins.
