So... is this feature working? is there a way to enable it somehow. I'm starting this thread because as far as i can tell no one is asking the question

      pit2p Any updates team?

The way to check whether there are updates is via the issue page (link above). If you are signed in to a GitHub account, there is a "Subscribe" button that will send alerts if changes occur. And near the top of the page there is a "Thumbs up" button people can use to express interest.

The developers do not want people to post "I want this too!" comments, because those generate annoying messages to the developers and clutter the comment area. If those comments show up it is likely that the issue will be locked, which will make it harder for people to contribute.

Please note that I do not speak for the GrapheneOS project.

de0u Thanks for informing me about the developers' secret desiresโ€”yes, I did check GitHub before asking, and it's just a tiny idea to add a thermometer to our GOS apps, not a request to build a spaceship ๐Ÿ™‚

I think at present they are working to firm up support for the Pixel 8a.

Maybe over time more Pixel models will have temperature sensors, in which case maybe the GrapheneOS developers will think it's more worthwhile to invest in supporting the feature. Or maybe a volunteer contributor will submit some code.

I also vote to make the thermometer on the Pixel 8 Pro compatible with Graphene OS. Currently doesn't work either from Aurora or Google Play with exploit protection compatibility mode, all permissions enabled including sensors, Google Play services enabled. I get an error saying "Temperature Sensor Unavailable Contact Google for More Information." I would think it should be an easy fix to allow the app to access the temperature sensor along with the phone's other sensors. Being as this is a major feature on the current flagship phone graphene os supports this seems like it should be a priority.

I think that's a matter of opinion! This is far from a major feature or a priority in my opinion.

Will this now be prioritised, as pixel 9 pro also has a thermometer?

<grapheneos:grapheneos.org> we're working on adding support for the temperature sensor on the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL ๐Ÿ™‚
