Hey guys. I have two questions about Sandboxed Google Play Store.

1) Do I need to run a separate user to use Google apps? Or can I just run it sandboxes on my main user? Because I don't want to gave to switch user multiple times per day. Will it be safe and private?

2) I think I uninstalled Google Play stuff as I can't find it. How do I install the sandboxed version?

PepeLapiu No, you can use Google apps in the main profile without any problems. This is always private and secure. If you don't want applications to be able to communicate by mutual consent, or if you want to compartmentalize different applications for organizational reasons, use different user profiles.

Go to Apps, Google Play Services and authorize all requests, then you can set permissions manually if you want.

"Go to Apps, Google Play Services and authorize all requests"

That is the problem. Google Play Services does not show up in Apps.
So how do I install it?

This should not be the case, are you using a modified version of GrapheneOS ? From which source did you install it, if its' the official version, what is the exact version and model of your Google Pixel ?

PepeLapiu Maybe after opening Apps, if you hit the 3 dots at the top right and select "All packages" you will see google play?

PepeLapiu Google Play Services does not show up in Apps.

Exactly what does show up in Apps? Please note that by "Apps" what is meant is an app called "Apps", not the app launcher. The icon is a rotated cube.

When I go to settings and search for Google, the only result I get is this:

"Special app access > Special access to hardware accelerators for Google apps"

I downloaded and installed from the official Graphene site. I know that I did have Google Play at one time on the phone. In fact, I created an other user and I would switch to that user any time I wanted to use anything Google related.

But I found it to be too much of a pita to keep switching back and forth between users, and I deleted the second user profile about a week ago. Ever since, I don't seem to see Google Play options on my remaining main admin profile.

So how do I install or re-install sandboxed Google Play ?

          PepeLapiu

Go to the Apps" App and tap on "Google Play Services". From there you can install the necessary components.

I do not see that option is Apps. I did see that option before, but I don't see it any longer.

PepeLapiu try updating the Apps app from GitHub, restart your phone and then look at the Apps again. See if you can find them after the update. Not that I recommend using "sandboxed" Google Play Services anyway...

[deleted] try updating the Apps app from GitHub,

This shouldn't be necessary and wouldn't solve the root problem, even if it worked.

PepeLapiu You likely haven't updated in a good while. Check your build number under about phone in the settings. It's probable you disabled the system updater and forgot to enable it again, or just swiped away the notification and never rebooted.

PepeLapiu What model is your Google Pixel exactly ? Also, Android 14 has been out for 4 months, go to settings, system, system update, check for update.

Okay guys. Thanx for your help but I finally figured it out and it's all for nothing because the app I wanted won't work.

Lol, sorry, I don't remember how I fixed it. I re-read the posts here and figured out Google Play sandboxed was already installed, but deactivated.

So I reactivated it, updated it, and tried to install the banking app in question. The Google Play store won't let me install it, claiming it's not compatible with my phone. And it seems to remain hidden in Aurora repository, probably because the app is not compatible with my phone (Pixel 6 bough new from Google)
