Hi guys - I am trying to use the web installer to flash my Pixel 7. I am using Brave as a browser. The factory image Download appears to be successful:

Downloaded panther-factory-2023121200.zip release.

Yet when I try to flash the release I get the error:

Error: You need to download a release first!

When I switch to MS Edge I just get the Error:

Error: Failed to execute 'claimInterface' on 'USBDevice': Unable to claim interface.

I can't seem to locate the downloaded image on my drives. I can't seem to find info on a fix for the Gnome bug that was mentioned above. Also the CMD line install instructions are really over my head. I am a bit of a noob. Any help is appreciated!

Keep only one instance of the web installer open. The instances in Brave and Edge are interfering with each other which is why you get the unable to claim interface error. If you continue to use Brave, make sure you disable Brave Shields on the web installer webpage.

So you nailed it!
I figure the initial problem was I was using Brave and didn't have Brave Shields turned off...
The second problem was that I just transitioned to Edge (after unlocking the bootloader with Brave).
When I locked the bootloader with Brave, (closed the Brave web installer), unlocked the bootloader with Edge everything worked just fine.
Thanks so much! One less brick in the world ;)

This post helped me. I was also setting up a Pixel 7, using Brave with the shields off, but had the same error message "Error: You need to download a release first!". It didn't recognize the completed download. I locked the bootloader in Brave, then unlocked it in Edge. After downloading the factory images in Edge, the phone flashed with no problem. Thanks.
