Well, I can't get it to work. And I found out today that the same problem happens with other non google app (downloaded from gplay and installed and then extracted, then installed on main profile with no gplay) it doesn't work and break the working one in the profile with gplay!!!
Should I post my problem elsewhere? Since now it is not only about gcam?

Gcam is delivered from Play Store as multiple apks. This is known as app bundles or split apk.

Sounds like the method you are using to extract the apk may not be getting all the apks

suspected that too but nobody confirmed it when I mentioned it above, so I thought I might be wrong.

Any recommendations for a Foss Apk extractor app?
Or can an app actually extract multiple bundles or splitted apk into one apk file?

I know apkmirror has an installer that help with that, but then I wanted to download the apk from the source (Gplay ) so to speak.

Thanks everybody for the help and thanks for the link, it did help me discover a new app for apk bundle extraction but it didn't solve the problem, but I did at the end solved it..
I download and extracted the appin the 2nd profile, then deleted it and switch tothe primary one, installed it there, restarted the phone, open the app, it works, the install it again from gplay on the 2nd one and both of them are working.

The weird thing I noticed is, updating the app in the secondary profile do update the apps in the primary profile! Is that by design? I thought everything is separated!

Apps cannot, for technical/security reasons, have two different versions simultaneously on the device, meaning apps across profile have to be updated to the same version. Regarding separation of apps, its the user data the app stores that is separated not the actual app code/data itself.

Dumdum that make sense, but should it not work if the app has two different signatures? Or does it means that proton apps have the same signatures as the ones in gplay ....hmmmmm...

My solution for installing pixel camera on grapheneos is to extract the apk from the pixel factory image and then let aurora update it to latest version. App works fine without Google services.
