kingw try running a fresh GrapheneOS vs fresh stock with no apps installed for couple of days before judging. Problem is likely in your app or settings setup, network instability or multiple profile use to name a few.
kingw Not apples to apples, but close. My 6 with stock Android 14 gets better battery life than my 6a with GOS. Probably 30-35% better. That being said, I am by no means a power user and get a full day out of my GOS 6a, so no complaints.
My 7a is having horrible battery life as well (drops ~25% overnight doing "nothing"). I'm on airplane mode+wifi 95% of the time, too. The 6a I have, setup pretty much identically (same apps running in the background, airplane mode+wifi) gets amazing battery life (drops maybe 5% at night). On the 7a, for whatever reason, "Mobile Network" is still consuming 10-20% overnight, even in airplane mode. I'm still trying to narrow it down to try to figure out why.
Is there a different wifi chip on the 7a vs. 6a? What else changed from the 6a to the 7a that could be a cause I could try to eliminate?
One thing I did find is that even in Airplane mode, the 7a has "Mobile Radio Power" enabled when I check in 4636, which was surprising (I thought airplane mode was supposed to disable all radios (unless you manually enable Wifi/Bluetooth). I disabled it, but it turns itself back on after a little bit. However, it seems the 6a experiences the same thing, so doubtful that's the culprit.
I'm still fighting this -- overnight it dropped from 100% to 72%. I was on airplane mode the entire time with Wifi on, Voice over Wifi enabled, bluetooth disabled. 0 min SOT. System usage has Mobile network reported to have used ~60% of the battery each 2 hour time block (which doesn't make sense since it dropped 28% overnight). App usage is all <1%. I tried resetting mobile network settings, but that didn't help. I don't understand why "Mobile network" is using anything at all since I'm in airplane mode the entire time.
spindlegranite Possible experiments:
- Overnight place your phone literally next to your Wi-Fi access point,
- Before you go to sleep, reboot your Wi-Fi access point,
- Before you go to sleep, turn off both cellular and Wi-Fi.
latest graphene os + whatsapp update, battery much better
but because two things were updated at the same time, hard to say what helped
I went further and disabled WhatsApp and any other apps I'm using rarely. There is not much change.
Something is wrong with WiFi (for me) as the battery manager shows usage mainly by WiFi and CPU. I continue with my investigations and I plan to perform a "Bluetooth and WiFi" reset at some point.
Interstingly, sometimes on nighttime battery usage, I can see "Screen" and I have no always on display or wake screen options activated.
Oggyo i have whatsapp on but it no longer eats 30 but 12%.
I was looking for whatsapp bridges to matrix or discord but did not find anything that i'd just pay and it would just work.

I have just replied in a different thread with a similar issue and am chiming into this one just to help excluding another possibility. Have you tried uninstalling Play Services (assuming that you have it installed), reinstalling it from the GrapheneOS Apps and not allowing the Play Store to update it (just for a few days to see if the problem is fixed)?
