Good afternoon!
I hope you are all well, it is a pleasure to join the Grapheneos forum.
I have been using my phone with grapheneos for many years, and a few months ago they gave me a new phone so I could use it for work since it requires Google applications, and now months have passed and I have forgotten my screen lock pin.
Option 1: Is there a way to reset the screen lock?
Option 2: Or do I have to format the phone somehow?
Option 3, can I install the grapheneos again on top of the one that is currently there?
Can you think of any other option I can do to access other than remembering the password?

I would appreciate your help because my phone is now locked and I can't use it and I need it!

cybermind Option 1: Is there a way to reset the screen lock?

This won't be possible. The only way to change a PIN/passcode is by logging in first.

cybermind Option 2: Or do I have to format the phone somehow?

If you want to use the phone again and are okay with erasing the data that's there, this is pretty easy.

I am not too sure what the best route forward would be, but you will either have to factory reset then update multiple times (possibly 10s+ of times), or you would factory reset, then flash GrapheneOS again to the latest version.

Here are the instructions on how to do a factory reset without logging in first (Under With your phone's buttons (advanced)): https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/4596836?hl=en#zippy=%2Cwith-your-phones-buttons-advanced

cybermind Hi there, if you have forgotten your password, you will need to factory reset from recovery mode GUI, which you can reach using the hardware buttons.

other8026 has provided a link with further details.

A factory reset will return your device to a fresh install of your current version of GrapheneOS, so there is no need to update after a factory reset, unless of course, you weren't on the latest version before the reset.

Reflashing the OS or making multiple updates is not required. After a factory reset a GrapheneOS device remains on the same version as before the factory reset - the version is not rolled back.

Right. Factory resets don't roll back OS versions.

I saw a post not long ago and this person said they had to update multiple times when they started using a phone that had been sitting around for a long time again. Now that I think about it, that shouldn't be the case. I guess one update should be sufficient, but I haven't actually done it myself, so I don't know from personal experience.

There are different kinds of updates. I guess since OP's phone is more than 2/3 updates behind, their phone should just install a "full update" rather than one or multiple "delta" updates.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion. It appears I wrote the wrong thing.

Which model Pixel? I think it is only worth to do if its a 6-serie. When the device is older and (soon) out of support, better to buy a new 6-up Pixel for a fresh start, safe the one for later the time you do remember the pincode. When forgotten and in a stress mode its harder to remember then some time later.

cybermind Your phones data is encrypted and requires the pincode to unlock, you will have to factory reset in recovery mode

Hello people, the truth is that I have tried to recover and since I don't have Android it stays in a "no Android" limbo and I have to restart it and I return to the same starting point.

I'm thinking of installing it again on top of the current os graphene, could that work? Because there is no factory reset option on the boot buttons.
