hey i was wondering if i could dock my phone and see it on my TV, when i plugged it in it charges but nothing more comes up, wondering if there is a setting or im just SOL.

ive been wanting to play Star Rail over my capture card so i can hear it over my headset

(im running linux and Star Rail has no support right now so this is the best i can do without duel booting or setting up a VM)

On a Pixel 7, you would need to use DisplayLink.

Don`t expect to much from displaylink. And be aware of wasting money.
I have a compatible adapter which is listed in the shop from displaylink homepage.
And it is not working at all with Pixel7a. Adapter does not get recognised as a hdmi interface. It works usb only.
It never worked on my Pixel4a either. A Samsung Phone was the only one who could handle it.

I think its not worth spending money on this for a google phone.

google hardware is a pain in the ass. I only buy this because of GrapheneOS.

When I read this linked article I see that this works only with root. Is this a bl..dy joke? Yes, shure, lets all buy P8`s.
And probably data transmission of the usb is not fast enough to display in HD. :)

Other brands had the feature for display on desktop by usb to hdmi transcoder allready before more then 5 years, and it was working.

That article is from almost a month ago and documents Google's non-production OS at the time. A search of this forum is likely to turn up experiences of GrapheneOS users.
