akc3n I've already tried with a VPN disabled, and also the custom Private DNS setting disabled.

Sandboxed GP version: version 23.35.14

[deleted] I installed the ebay app version 6.133.0.1 just now and was able to login without any issues. I also have automatic exploit protection compatibility mode enabled by default in the system security settings.

Is the ebay app you installed the same version latest version?
Have you tried clearing the store/cache of the ebay app and/or uninstalling it, reboot, and reinstalling?

akc3n yup I have the latest version of the eBay app, and I have tried the steps you mentioned.

akc3n I tried logging the app to check for errors. I'm seeing the following in the logs:

1698757725.260 10145 10662 10662 I NonFatalReporter: IDENTITY - retrieve app integrity token failed: retrieve app integrity token failed - error

1698757725.260 10145 10662 10662 I NonFatalReporter: IDENTITY - retrieve app integrity token failed: retrieve app integrity token failed - error

1698757776.015 10145 10662 10662 I NonFatalReporter: Caused by: com.google.android.play.core.integrity.IntegrityServiceException: -3: Integrity API error (-3): Network error: unable to obtain integrity details.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but I figured I would throw it in there.

[deleted] 1698757776.015 10145 10662 10662 I NonFatalReporter: Caused by: com.google.android.play.core.integrity.IntegrityServiceException: -3: Integrity API error (-3): Network error: unable to obtain integrity details.

This part of the error seems to indicate a connection is being blocked somehow. Have you done any of the following:

        • revoked Google Play Services' Network permission?
        • revoked Google Play's Network permission?
        • Blocked connections to *.google.com domains via a VPN or DNS filter app or something similar?

If you've done any of those, try allowing network access to the apps or the domains and try again.

other8026 looks like my sister was Google Play Store had the network permission disabled. Toggling that on allowed me to login. For some reason I think I had assumed that only Google Play Services needed it. Thank you!

Lol what a massive typo in that previous message. I don't even know what I meant by it lol. Anyways, thank you for helping with that issue.

What fixed it for me was going into Google play services/ Settings/ Network permissions/ Allow.

Apologies for resurrecting a solved issue. I am having exactly the same issue. The eBay app provides me with "invalid request" when trying to login. I have tried all the steps mentioned and even used another use account to see if that would work and no joy. Any help would be appreciated greattly.

            23 days later

I am experiencing the same issue on eBay 6.172.0.2, exploit protection compatability mode enabled, no VPN. eBay app and Google Play Services both have network access.

i was having this issue so i got the oldest ebay app i could find and boom it's working and i no longer have the issue
i just wanted to login via android to grab a 5GBP discount only available on mobile and it worked fine
version i used was 115 and i didnt have to give it any bad permissions aside from network

Could the PWA be a temporary workaround? As far as I know there is one.

I'm not sure if something has changed but 6.172.0.2 has started working for me suddenly... I have been able to login today. Passkey setup with Bitwarden fails for some reason but that's irrelevant here.

Can confirm that the newest version, 6.172.0.2, has fixed the issue for me. At least in guest mode (I don't have an account).

So can I confirm what the ebay app requires? is if 'Google Services Framework' or 'Google Play Services'

I ask because GSF is installed on the owner profile and GPS is installed along with Google Play on a seperate profile. So far every other app I use on the owner profile 'only' has GSF as a requirement.

              • ebay app version - 6.177.1.1, permissions, network only.

              thanks.

I had to give network permissions to the play store as well, not (only) play services
