So I figured I would post tthis as it stumped me for a bit. If you have Google Play installed on a user profile with no user installed apps, Play will respond with the unhelpfull error "Something went wrong, try again". Imho what it should really be saying is "there is nothing to update" or " your all upto date", but this is not a GoS issue, but rather a google issue.

The article seems a bit alarmist, but Im guessing there is nothing new to see here for the GoS team/Community..?
Ammako nope, and I get the same issue on date and wifi.
Ammako No VPN, also see my reply above.
AcidDemon was the first thing I did, then did that uninstalled and reinstall, same issue.
On the other profile that has GooglePlayServices, GooglePlay, ebay works as exspected, so the question then I supposed is, doe the app actually require GPS and not GSF..?
So I am getting an unhelpfull error with the ebay app when I try to login, which is "Invalid request". I did a search on for ' ebay app' on the forum and only found 2 posts which dont appear to shed any light on what is causing the issue -
- https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/8561-ebay-app-log-in-not-working-invalid-request/6
- https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/15287-ebay-no-longer-works
So as per my reply in the first thread (which can be deleted btw), can I confirm what the ebay app actually requires? In the aurara store its says it requite GSF, but lots of apps have this requirement and work just fine. So is there some other requirement that I have yet to discern?
GSF is installed on the owner profile and GPSs are installed along with Google Play on a seperate profile.
ebay app version - 6.177.1.1, permissions, network only.
thanks.

So can I confirm what the ebay app requires? is if 'Google Services Framework' or 'Google Play Services'
I ask because GSF is installed on the owner profile and GPS is installed along with Google Play on a seperate profile. So far every other app I use on the owner profile 'only' has GSF as a requirement.
- ebay app version - 6.177.1.1, permissions, network only.
thanks.
"There are improvements that the team wants to make to the network permission, however, with the main one being separating the toggle into Internet access and localhost."
But isnt loclhost essentuially loopback, not lan..?

If thats an actual issue, then that to me would suggest a limitation of the wifi chip in the some of the Pixel devices..? I havent had any disconnection issue at home, but my access point is set to chanel 36, 80mhz channel width & 802.11a/n/ac mixed.I have the same issue, typing on the p6 is very hit and mis. I use gboard on my S20fe and the p6, and on the p6 its like I have lost the ability to use a touch screen keyboard. So I have turned off 90hz and increase sensativity, to see if that helps.

Sorry for the thred necro, but as an Afwall user who has had to move to GoS, I too would like limit some apps to LAN access only, or data only etc.@graphoneOS hos the idea of 'network Scopes' similar to 'contact scopes' ever been considered..?
@GrapheneOS nice work, I was about to ask and then spotted this thread :-)
johnblue perhaps using a different phone app might help, like Dialpad.?

You are indeed fair when pointing out the GUi issues are AOSP related. But conversely there are other AOSP based ROMs that have resolved some of these, namely the quick launch issue (which has been addressed in an adjacent ROM in this space). And seeing as AOSP tweaks and mods are freely shared and readily available, its frustrating when fixes for common complaints aren't propagated between the various AOSP distributions.- Edited
So I've been using Samsung devices since Android 4, primarily because of the their popularity making finding custom ROMs far more ubiquitous. But since the Galaxy S7 I have been looking to divorce myself from the Samsung ecosystem/environment, and maybe because I have been a pro-android user for a while now. The partial move to GOS/P6 for the 'most part' has been painless, but there are some teething pains to this process.
Issues:
3button navigation buttons -
- no option to swap back/recent? Its present in LineageOS 20 via the Setting>System>Buttons setting.
- apparently there is a 3rd party app for doing this?, I found Android Navigation bar, but it is a band-aid at best.
Dailer -
- no option to open to keypad - I find this especially irksome
- In lieu of not opting to keypad, there seems to be no option to move the keypad icon/button to the left (I'm left handed when it comes to using my phone)
- prefer separate pages for contacts, recent calls etc.
Calender -
- I have never lights the stock AOSP calender, So simple calender is a close aproximation of the Samsung calender.
Recents page -
- no option to lock apps from being closed, is this an AOSP thing or a GOS thing?
- no option to always display 'clear all' button.
- no option to change layout to more compact.
Quick tiles -
- not having serpate icons for Wifi/Data is extremely irksome. On my S20fe I can turn this off/on with a swipe and a press (or 2 is going from wifi to data). With GOS is a swipe and 3 presses, or 4 if I have to switch from wifi to data.
Pros:
- location lock on GPS only is stupid fast, 2-3x faster than my S20FE. And with GOS assist its even faster again.
- Having built in network permission (that dosen't require root) is the holy grail, just wish there was more info about which system apps were safe to block (the consensus is not to block any, but have able to block most systemfiles on my S20fe via the rooted firewall with no ill effects)
- Sandboxing, next best thing to Xprivacy, but as I understand it, only applies to google apps & services. Would be nice to have this as a default option for user apps that I could toggle as I saw fit.
Pixel 6:
Sound -
- stereo sound inst balanced, more pronounced out of bottom speaker, P6 or GOS issue..?
- sound is slightly muffled compared to the S20fe
- ring tones only play from bottom speaker, P6 or GOS issue..?
Videos -
- are slightly less sharp in Newpipe (for example) on the P6, compared to the S20FE. Is this a DPI thing? in GOS the DPI setting is 411 and on the S20Fe is 407, so the Pixel should be sharper..?
@Admins - if this is the wrong location for this post, please move as you guys see fit.

I did look for the PM option, but it dosent appear to be available on this forum? As a Galaxy S20FE user running LSposed and Xprivacy, I am very interested in getting the Xpl-Ex (updated version and A14 compatible version fo Xprivacy) working with LSpatch or Xpatch on my Pixel6. I thought to ask you, because as you say waiting for LSPatch to support modules or the other way around is a long wait.
As a result of the very short edit timeout window, here are the shots of Xpy I mentioned above - https://imgur.com/a/7jqv2NX
Like the OP I currently have a rooted (Magisk) device (S20fe), with Xprivacy (Xpy) installed via LSposed and using Afwall+ for my firewall. But as a result of my banking app of having 10yrs with not objecting to root, as of a an update now has, I have also started my research and testing of gOS.
So far I like the idea of the firewall being baked in and not needing root, thus allowing me to use a VPN etc. But I dont like the fact I dont appear to have the same level of granular control that I have with Xprivacy. And as a result I am still bound by whatever permissions are present by the OS only. Ive attached 3 screenshots sow the granularity of Xpy.
Well there might be hope, in the form of LSposed, LSPatch that appears to work without root - https://github.com/LSPosed/LSPatch. That and XPY has now been superceeded by by Xpl-Ex - https://github.com/0bbedCode/XPL-EX
